“Beautiful, romantic Tuscan farm house”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2011

Our week in Tuscany was the highlight of our Italy trip, partly because of this agriturismo. Our apartment was tucked in the corner of a Brunello vineyard. We used the kitchen to prepare our dinners from ingredients purchased in nearby Montalcino. The staff are friendly and helpful. The wine and olive oil produced on site are very tasty. We had to go to the office to use the Wi-Fi, but it wasn't inconvenient, and who wants to spend their time online when staying in such a beautiful locale, anyway?

We spent two nights in apartment A. Great to be staying right in the middle of a winery with rustic views. Barbara was absolutely terrific....so enthusiastic and a joy to talk to. (As was Julia and Roberto) The restaurant next door was one of the best meals we had in Italy and accessed along a quite road running along the back of the winery. We picked up a bottle of the winery's Rosolio Grappa to bring back home. The apartment was more spacious than we expected and clean (just smelled a little of smoke though from the fireplace) and the kitchen was fully stocked. It was a short drive to Montalcino and a great base to explore Montepulciano and Pienza. Highly recommended particularly given the more than reasonable rates.

My husband and I loved this place. It was clean, quiet, spacious and the people there were very friendly and spoke terrific English. We even had our own parking space! They cooked a delicious Saturday night dinner, it was one of the best dinners of our entire trip! Their wine was very good also! Our room had a fireplace, hot water, fresh air, it was a delight!

We didn't go to Montalcino until our last day and I think it was our favorite. We had gone to Montepulciano, Cortona, and Voltera but I think Montalcino was our favorite and here it was right next door!

We stayed two nights in a large studio apartment in an old stone building on the grounds of a Brunello winery. We loved the large room with a huge fireplace for a fire in the evenings.
The kichenette was perfect for cooking simple meals, a delight to shop in the local market and then have a dinner that didn't cost USD 80.00. Barbara was very charming and incredibly helpful for our stay. We loved touring the countryside and seeing the surrounding hill towns. It was a perfect stay.

If your looking to truly experience Tuscany and the wine country of Italy, La Crociona should be your destination. The beautiful estate is exactly what you would invision for a vineyard in Tuscany. This was our second visit and will not be our last. Barbara, Fiorella, Roberto and the entire family and staff (Giulia) made this a trip to remember. My daughter had her 30th birthday while we were there and Fiorella and family hosted a dinner party for us that was truly memorable. They prepared a five course gourmet. dinner that would have been the envy of any 5 star restaurant complete with the finest wines, liquors and a delicious birthday cake. All prepared and served by her family. It was as though we were eating at my mothers and she had spent a week preparing for this feast!!!! They gave us a personal tour of their winery and vineyard . Their hospitality was outstanding. So if you enjoy being treated like family be sure to visit La Crociona!

Idyllic setting, wonderful people, outstanding wine, spacious rooms, great location, reasonable prices, I don’t know what more you could ask. I have stayed here several times and it keeps getting better and better. They have added a hot tub and exercise room as well as a new wine cellar and tasting room.
The website has improved and shows an accurate representation.

The bathrooms are clean and modern and have hairdryers, soaps and shampoo. The kitchen is stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, salt etc. There are enough pots and pans and dishware for a full meal. The stove is full size, oven and four burners but the refrigerator is half size with a minuscule freezer. The bedrooms are large with comfortable beds and the living room has a couch (can be opened as a bed), table, and TV. The dining area has a marble table and four chairs and storage space for dry goods.

The outside area has several patios and shaded sitting areas and a fenced in pool. The vineyard is all around you. A restaurant is 100 meters away, Montalcino is about a twenty minute walk away or three minutes by car. Five minutes away is Sant’Antimo, In a half hour you can be in Buonconvento, Monte Oliveto Maggiore, Murlo, Pienza, Monticchiello, San Quirico d’Orcia, Bagno Vignoni.

The family of this farm/vineyard is very sweet. I would definatley stay here again. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and spacious. They provided us with coffee and tea which were both delicious. The shower was very hot and the bed very comfortable. The wine of La Crociona is very good as well and fairly priced. If in this area, I suggest that you stay here because my favorite part about this trip was the family that owned the place.
