“A Wonderful Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Roberto is a consummate host who has extraordinary knowledge of the town of Montalcino as well as the surrounding areas and provides great insight to his guests as to the most important places to go in the surrounding area. He is particularly knowledgeable about the art and architecture of the town as well as the cuisine and wines. Count on him to provide you a list of the best restaurants in the town. His gracious afternoon conversation after a long day of walking around the town provided a wonderful respite and good historical understanding. As a well-known international photographer, he has an extraordinary perspective on how to enthuse the eye and gratify the spirit. His wife, Lucilla, is a charming partner and exquisite hostess. You cannot go wrong staying in their lovely palazzina. One other gem of hospitality is the delicious breakfast that he serves each morning. I look to return to Palazzina Cesira the next time I go to Montalcino as his hospitality makes you feel like you're in a home away from home. - Leo S.

This is my third stay at Palazzina Cesira. And again it was perfect. A great relaxing B&B; with wonderful hosts. It is clean and comfortable. A great place to make as your headquarters for travels around Tuscany. It is close to the other hill towns and Siena. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, and have there own bathrooms. It even come with breakfast, which is a great way to economize. A great place to stay.

Roberto and Lucilla have done a wonderful job with their B&B. Located in the heart of the charming stone city of Montalcino (which, in turn, is located in the heart of some of the most beautiful scenery in Italy), makes Palazzina Cesira an ideal place to spend several days. Lucilla is attentive to your every need and serves a tasty breakfast, complete with eggs, upon request. Roberto is the resident "travel guide"---very willing to sit down and outline any number of leisurely day trips. The rooms were comfortable and the central gathering room is spacious, with a well stocked library...While there, you must dine at the Grappolo Blu restaurant---It's the best!

A friend and I stayed with this wonderful couple in April 2013. The B&B is beautiful, quiet and in the perfect location. The morning breakfast was great, and their advice spot-on. No better place to stay in Montalcino !

Room Tip: If you have alot of luggage, ask for a lower floor !

This is a quaint and beautiful B&B centrally located within the walls of the city, so clean and just with everything in its place- relaxing with wonderful hosts. Our room great on the very top and as we are the only ones on this floor, kind in a delicious attic but big- with our own bathroom- and very quiet. The morning walk at six today was just myself and the roosters in the back ground and the smell of freshly baked bread- what more can you ask for. A truly delightful town and B&B- Enjoy, we are!

I spent 2 nights with these special people in their beautiful home. They were so welcoming and so helpful in advice and suggestions. The breakfast included Lucilla's homemade jam which was gorgeous. As it is right in the middle of the town it is perfect. A definite must if you are looking for a homely place to stay

My wife and I stayed in Roberto and Lucilla's wonderful historic B&B in September. The B&B location is exceptional - a very short walk to many shops and nice restaurants. Lucilla's breakfasts are generous and delicious. We found Roberto to be a great source for information and guidance regarding local attractions such as the many world class wineries, mountain towns, and best places to eat. Our favorite excursions included a day hike along an ancient Etruscan road to an old Abbey, an unforgettable Brunello winery tour and tasting, and visits to other local historic hill top towns to include Montepulciano.
