“Great food, great price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

Although we had to wait to be seated the wait was well worth it. Everything my family had was top class and the atmosphere was simple and friendly. The kids played outside in the playground nearby while we waited for a table, which allowed us to kick back and relax. It was so nice to have a good meal at a genuine, unassuming trattoria.

“BEST MEAL IN ITALY - STAZZIONA SAN ANGELO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

THIS IS STAZZIONE SAN ANGELO NOT SAN ANGELO IN COLLE. Unpretentious, filled with locals, and run bu the most charming husband and wife couple. This is a lesson on how to serve pasta - gnocchi (not a plate of stodgy foury balls) - light and balanced with a delicate sauce ; Americiana pasta - al dente because the sauce is strong and textured ; Fiore - mid with a delicate cheese and fennel sauce and the lightest tomato sauce accompianament / mixed together it got better and better. An Italian experience of the very best kind!

“But not where the map indicates - beware!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

We tried to visit this cafe by using the Trip Advisor map which put it about 5 km from where we were staying near Siena. It wasn't there! Eventually we found it 50km south of Siena which was a long way for a cafe meal. However we were not disappointed. This is a simple family run establishment with a dog who likes steak. The menus are hand written each day and the owner has very little English. The menu didn't have Pizza or easily recognised dishes so it is definitely for the Italian speaking or adventurous. I had Pear al Forno! yes, Pears with a grilled Mozzarella topping and honey to drizzle over, as a main course and it was delicious. Home made tarts including Chocolate & Chilli, but the Ice Cream was branded freezer fayre. Recommenderd

“The real deal - absolutely loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

We went to this restaurant for lunch on the recommendation of the owner of a wine merchant whose beautiful winery we visited in the morning (Azienda Querce Bettina).
The restaurant is totally unassuming: no frills, no fancy cutlery or tablecloths. But the most amazing Amatriciana I have ever tasted and a gorgeous cheesecake to follow. We left there feeling totally delighted with this great find ... and paid less than 10 euro a head.
The absolute real deal!!

“Fabulous!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

This is the one! Off the beaten track, no frills, no fancy music, no posh cutlery or table cloths, BUT fabulous food at very reasonable prices.

Friendly and fast service, this is the place the locals go to - always a great sign. Very laid back, no pressure - the perfect place to go and enjoy the real Italy!
