“Wine tasting Brunello”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2015 NEW

This American owned winery, the winery of the year 2015 in Europe diserves a visit. If you don't drink wine - enjoy the view. We were met by Bernadeete, a German having lived in Tuscany for 25 years, married to an Italian. She quickly assesed our wine knowledge, and then the tasting began. Lots of discussion about marketing, style, and grape varieties. The portions poured were too generous. The wines gorgeous, as we shared knowledge, the common thoughts were confirmed. Great wines, great ambiance, and service. Tax free not a problem if purchase over Euro 155. The tasting even at a novice level is great - they assess what you want and serve accordingly. Well done!

Is worth visiting it, beautiful winery, kind attention, great enoteca! Try La Taverna Restaurant! One of the best, if not the best all around Tuscany!

“Wine heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2015

We visited on a Sunday when the winery is closed, so we didn't get a tour, but the wine tasting was an excellent sampling of their whites, rosés, and reds, including sparkling wines, with detailed descriptions and explanations. It is possible to buy bottles of the wines in their shop and they have a wonderful selection of other items for purchase, many of which we could not resist. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.

“Simply Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2015

I visited Banfi with a colleague in February. We thought it would be a good idea to drive there...leaving Milan, stopping in Florence for a night and then returning all the way back to the Piedmont region the next day. Faint of heart, we are not!

It was winter and driving through the mountains was a bit treacherous, but we made it (and only slightly got confused when driving up - there are signs for Banfi, but KEEP GOING past the little buildings until you get to the very distinctive caste). I know, it says Castello, but we weren't sure what to expect.

We were warmly greeted by some of the most friendly winery employees ever. We visited the glass museum and had the place very much to ourselves when we were there.

The buildings are beautiful as are the grounds. We were able to have fog lifted finally so that we could see the nearby landscape - gorgeous!

We tried a variety of the wines (I bought some sparkling, white and Summus - which was delicious) to have at home. We also had a lovely tasting plate of meats and cheeses.

Absolutely perfect and don't forget to try some prunes as well as their balsamic (WOW!). Definitely worth a visit and it was one of my favorite wineries (and I've visited wineries around the world).

Thanks Banfi!!

“Scenic, lovely and worth the visit!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2015

This was a lovely winery to visit. The grounds are gorgeous and are worth a visit to just see the castle and view. The property is very large, with the winery, restaurant, wine shop and sprawling vineyard. The employees are pleasant and many speak at least some English which is an advantage. I was with a tour group so I'm not sure of the prices for the restaurant, but the meal we had was very good. The portions were perfect and you could tell they take pride in their food and service. The wines were very enjoyable and very good. There are many varieties to choose from for tastings, meals and purchasing. I was luckily enough to get to go on a tour of the winery as well and that was a great experience to learn about how the wines were made and to see more of the property. I highly recommend stopping here!
