“Perfect for Relaxtion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This Hotel is a perfect destination for a quiet relaxing recharge of your batteries. It may not be the greatest and latest boutique Hotel but what it lacks in up to the minute style it sure makes up with quiet relaxing calm by the pool. The salt water pool which has the widest vista I have ever seen at a hotel was great with plenty of space for everyone. There were also decks down on the rocks or you could go to 1 of 2 sandy beaches down by the small fishing village just a short walk from the hotel.
The food was great if you know how Italians eat, if you dont you may be dissapointed as this is not a pizza and chips type of place, go elsewhere for this kind of eating.
The sunset was amazing as well whilst sipping a cocktail by the pool. We were just at the end oftrhe season so maybe it is busier in August (Italian Holidays) but we thought it was great.
Allow 2 hours to get back to Olbia Airport and make sure if you have a rental car that you have cash to pay for fuel as the two (un manned) petrol stations we went to wouldn't take English credit cards. Be warned.
But back to the Hotel Overall great if lacking inn up to the minute decor.

Room Tip: I would go for the up grade and get a room that looks over the Med if possible but away from the str...

The day we arrived it had just rained and the smell of fresh herbs from the hotel gardens was such a romantic welcome. We got a surprise upgrade and received a huge double room with full amenities instead of a superior room. The food was excellent and the service was always with a genuine smile. If we had questions they were most helpful. We had garden view but during the day it was lovey to linger on the sun decks and go for a snorkle around the islands and inlet. We do recommend bringing water shoes as there are a lot of sea urchins. Nevertheless the pool is huge and goes from 80cm to 250cm in depth, if you're not a fan of the sea. Hire a car as we did, as it is almost always one hour to 1,5 hour to do some serious sightseeing.

Very helpful staff, especially with my wife's gluten free diet. All staff were very pleasant & helpful.
Great location with choice of beaches, hotel beach even provided parasols & loungers included in the price.

This is the second time my girlfriend and I have stayed in Hotel Torreruja - and our stay was excellent yet again. This time we stayed at the hotel for three nights in mid-August in a standard room on the half-board basis. We have visited Sardinia three times now - and this is by far our favourite hotel on the island. We have stayed in almost all of the different Delphina Hotels (excluding Valle Dell'Erica) on Sardinia. I normally don't submit reviews, but have just set-up an account on tripadvisor to praise the wonderful staff and service at the Hotel Relax Torreruja. They are really excellent. I have stayed in a number of 5-star hotels in the past in Italy and elsewhere and the service and quality of this four-star hotel is far better than any of those. The pool at Torreruja is fantastic and even though we visited in mid-August (one of the busiest times in Sardinia) the hotel never felt crowded or busy. The food was excellent and the standard room we stayed in was great. We have stayed in one of their suites before which was also great. The service, staff, surroundings, pool and food is excellent. We hope to return again next year.

What a lovely hotel. The location was amazing. The panoramic views of the sea from the pool & restaurant are not to be beaten.
The hotel is in a small village with a small selection of bars & restaurants -they almost all have sea views & are less than 5 mins walk from the hotel. Lovely beach also less than 5 mins away. Don't expect lots of shops, there are a few selling the basics & a few supermarkets. We didn't feel we needed anything else though.
The rooms are a lot better than they look on the pictures, we had a superior room but I'm not too sure what the benefits were to the standard rooms. The rooms were extremely clean, new aircon unit & flat screen tvs. Hairdryer was terrible but that would be my only critisism of the room facilities.
The food in the restaurant was of a really good quality, lots of choice for breakfast. Dinner was also good but there was a lot of fish & we're not huge fish fans so we did eat out 3/7 nights. We took advantage of the roof top restaurant, it was an additional 10€ pp on top of what we had paid but the food was deliscious and we got a complimentary glass of fizz.
The pool area was gorgeous, however there were a lot of ants the week we were there & we were both bitten-so take some spray!
The hotel are strict about not allowing guests to reserve sun beds & then not use them-they actually pay someone to monitor this. I agree with the process on a morning but it was a bit much when we took a stroll within the hotel grounds at 5pm & came back to find all our items packed up & abandoned on a chair by the pool... However other than this I would not be able to fault a single thing. The upgraded room was on the pricy side but we were happy to pay to stay in a hotel with such great views. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed our stay as we wanted relaxing beach holiday. Nice sandy beach with clear waters only 10 mins away. Resort small with only a few shops and restaurants. Car hire needed as resort is quite isolated. Guests mainly Italian so few British guests.
Positives-
Friendly efficient staff
Quiet Rooms as a apartment like set up
Low rise amongst rockery gardens
Clean rooms and hotel
Safe for valuables
A/c very efficient and quiet - looks new?
Large flat screen tv
Food good
Pool area nice with lovely views over town beach + sunsets amazing.

Negatives-
Jacuzzi / indoor pool and gym are not free- brochure had not made this clear
Wi-Fi Internet - each booking only gets one hour free and only at reception!! Even basic hotels do free wi-Fi throughout hotel for entire stay!
Not suitable for elderly/disabled as lots of steps and no lifts
Rooms are fine but basic with wicker furniture and dark as door is only window.
Hair dryer is awful-wished I had taken my own.
Buffet food although wide variety became boring as very similar each night - lots of fish and meat especially pork.

We stayed here in June 2012. The hotel is very relaxing if a bit out on a limb. This resort is not for the late night revellers, more for those that want tranquility and peace. The rooms are comfortable with all facilities that you would expect for a 4 star+ rating. The food is good without being remarkable although it is possible to eat well and healthily from the large range on offer. We found the pool excellent although it is a pity some people chose to ignore the riules that they should not leave their towels to "claim" a sunbed. This was annoying as there are limited sun shades. The small town is very pretty and sufficient bars and small restaurants for lunches although the hotel does provide lunch if needed. The staff here were the jewel in the crown. They were top draw and couldn't do enough for you. At fiest we felt that we were out on a limb in Issola Rossa but after visiting some of the other larger towns, we felt that it had sufficient charm and facilities for what we needed. Wod of warning, no bus service to speak of and taxis are expensive. Best to either use the Thompson trips or those organised by the hotel. Car hire also very expensive. All in all this hotel and the locality are very good for anyone wanting to relax and have peace and quiet. Take plenty of Mosquito repellant. They are a pain in the evenings when at the excellent outside bar listening to the live music!

Room Tip: Pay that little bit extra for a superior room.
