“A Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Our time spent at Hotel La Perla was wonderful. The sweetly decorated rooms were super clean and comfortable and included tv, air condition, and the best part...a spectacular view. Our room had a private outdoor sitting area which was great for picture taking or just soaking in the beauty of the area. The included breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from and you can enjoy your meal out on the terrace with a beautiful view of the lake. The hotel is run by an amazing family. Twin sisters and their husbands, who welcome you as if you were family. Such kind, friendly and warm people who all spoke other languages besides Italian and made you feel right at home. Their service and hospitality was like none that we've ever experienced in our travels. Truly a lovely and professional family whose care and concern for their guests is
genuine. Our stay here was a fabulous experience. Great accommodations, excellent location, good food, wonderful staff...Hotel La Perla should be 5 stars. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake Como area. Can't wait to go back.

We arrived at this hotel after 24+ hours trip and I felt really lucky that we decided to book this hotel even just for 1 night. The view is simply breathtaking! One of the sister greet us at the reception and explained all the tips and trick to get around the area. We arrived early yet only need to wait 20 mins for the room to be ready. The room itself is basic but spotless.. The terrace give us access to sit outside, enjoy the fresh air and spectacular view.
This hotel may be 3 stars according to the standard facility that they offered, but the whole experience is clearly worth 5 stars. Due to its location, it is best for those arriving with car, the hotel have onsite parking garage with plenty of space. It might be easier to get a direction from the hotel before your trip. The narrow roads is in fact quite fun to drive. Tremezzo itself is a perfect area if you looking for a place to relax, compare to the crowded and touristy town of Bellagio.

The surrounding area is amazing which gives you a nice view from any room that you might be staying in. We're in a party of three rooms over several floors of the hotel and they're all very good! The staff (all one family) are very lovely, guest oriented, friendly, helpful and very professional! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the only negative thing that can be said about it, is the cold floors. We have our own little terrace and the view over the lake is breathtaking!!! There is also a pool, however we did not get the chance to use it. The hotel has three stars, but I am sure that this is not because of its cleanliness and service, more due to the lack of some facilities, one might expect to receive in more star hotels. Definately the best three star hotel I've ever stayed at and totally worth it's high tripadvisor rating!

The owners, what can I say? They are the most friendly, welcoming, approachable and hospitable people I've ever encountered. They made this hotel one of the nicest and memorable places to stay during my trip to Italy. I'm guessing because they own the place, rather than just being an employee, they care, and because of that the standard is higher than you find in most other places. Whether it's checking in guests, driving the bus, or clearing away breakfast, service is with a smile. I couldn't fault this hotel.

Rooms are clean and bright, wifi and parking are available, including a garage. Lots of information about ferries and local sights.

As others have said, location is away from the lake (giving it great views) and they do offer a shuttle bus. Breakfast is also great, a wide selection of fresh food which can also be taken on the terrace with that magnificent view. And though there is no restaurant, there are a couple of nearby trattoria that offer delicious food with walking distance.

Totally enjoyed my stay here and would give an extra star for friendly service if I could.

As a family of 4,the suite with outside 2 level terrace gave spectacular views of Lake Como. Very peaceful too as you are way above Tremezzo. Family run, everyone is only just too happy to take care of you...I cant think of kinder staff in a hotel .. and all in French, German , English if needed.Plenty of local restaurants too.. Recommend La Fagurida and pizzeria La Balognett.

Room Tip: Our suite was 108.

Our only regret is that we only had time to stay one night at this hidden gem!
Although we had some difficulty finding the hotel which is located off of the main lake road through a maze of side roads - when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised.
From the first greeting we had all our touristy questions answered with a smile and received a delightful tour of the property.
We highly recommend upgrading to a lake view room which contains a balcony which overlooks lake como with every view being a breathtaking one!
The hotel is clean and neatly appointed. (Although not overdone to 5 star extremes - it has all the amenities you need and more.)
The breakfast that is included is large and parking is also included in your stay.
The property is located within a short walk the botanical gardens in tremezzo and is only a short ferry ride from the beautiful city if bellagio.
You will not be disappointed if you book at this hotel!

We (including our 4yo) stayed in the fantastic Hotel La Perla in their first open week of the season. Everyone talks about the views, and they are indeed spectacular. But what makes this place more and worthy of being number 1 are the fantastic hosts. They will go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and their knowledge, friendliness and people skills make Hotel La Perla more than just a rating. And what this then does is make other guests feel at home and provides a warm and homely feel that resonates through the dining room at each breakfast. We leave here knowing much more about the world than we did, not just about Lake Como.
