“When in Rome Stay at Anne's!”

Anne's Place

We had a tremendous stay in Italy this year and much enjoyed Anne and David's hospitality. Anne provided us with a great deal of useful information on collecting us from the airport and dropped us off at an underground station so that we could make our way into Rome at the earliest opportunity. If you are visiting this part of Italy for a long weekend I would certainly recommend this option.
Our room was very spacious and had a large en-suite shower room. In addition, the breakfasts were excellent and prepared particularly early for us on mornings when we wished to go into Rome early. We had no difficulty in taking the train into Rome each day and either Anne or David was ready to collect us at whatever time we chose to return.
It was refreshing to leave the bustle of the city behind at the end of the evening and return to the more relaxing environs of Anne's Place. I have no hesitation in recommending this guest house. It is excellent value for money and Anne and David's hospitality is second to none.

I came, I saw, but didn'r conquer ! Actually we were conquered by the hospitality, the friendliness, the charm. The rooms were large and clean. The breakfast was great. We loved the location; on Rome's doorstep, but out of the noise.

The best part of staying there was all the advice and help that Anne gave us. And the others we met that we shared this wonderful experience with. Taking the train into Rome was a breeze, because we were taken to the local station, tickets were bought for us, we were told where to go when we returned (and that they would call Anne), and even pointed to the right platform.

In the evening we returned to a warm house, took a shower and were chauffered to the local restaurant, were were were treated like family.

If you want a break, take my advice - go to Anne's Place. As her site says "It's the place to be"

Great value and wonderful hospitality.
The rooms are large and very clean. With an excellent bed.
Would certainly stay again.
Anne and David both go above and beyond what is reasonably expected.
We wish to thank them very much for making our 5 day stay wonderful.

Just came back from staying at 'Anne's Place'.
My wife and I flew into Rome for 4 days of sightseeing and relaxing.
She and David were great - Anne met us at the airport and as we arrived mid morning took our baggage and dropped us off at the subway - having 1st sat us down over a coffee and explained what to look out for in Rome and how to find our way around.

We then went around Rome for the day before catching the train to the local station where one of her team met us at the station.
A great way to start our break!

Apart from the attractive location, the nice room (good mattress) and excellent breakfast, we also met Grady and Rose from Texas and Brian and Di from Melbourne, and the 6 of us went out in the evenings to one of the local restuarants, which David arranged, droping us off then collected us after. (needless to say we were able to sample the local wine produce)
All in all a nice place, with very nice hosts - will come back one day (once we can face the crowds in Rome again that is)

we chose to stay at Anne's solely on the strength of its reviews and so we were already expecting a wonderful place. but there we found ourselves realizing that the experience is even better than what's written!

the house itself is coziness defined. the rooms were nicely decorated and the common living area made us feel right at home. there is a small library and a television available for those times when you need to unwind.

eating at the nearby restaurants is a must. the experience of dining with the local families gives any trip to rome much needed perspective beyond the grand monuments.

so for a 6 euro ticket - the BIRG, which you can buy either adjacent to the zagarolo train station or at the newspaper store at the termini - you get into the center of rome, access to the buses and the metro, and get back. hard to beat that for transportation cost. you should validate the ticket before getting onto the train to rome (and back), but for the metros, just show the ticket at the turnstiles - there's a lane for pass holders.

the greatest treasures though are certainly Anne and David themselves (and Jill, of course. hello Jill!). definitely two of the loveliest people you will ever meet. they made a great roman holiday a truly warm and memorable part of our lives. some time during our stay Anne said that she wanted our holiday to be perfect. well Anne, it was. it truly was. thank you.

what another reviewer said must definitely be echoed: why stay anywhere else?
