“Sadly underutilized”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

This jewel of a museum is set high above the medieval town of Palestrina, the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Palestrina contains a smallish collection of artifacts found in the area. The most famous is the 1st Century B,C. floor mosaic depicting the flooding of the Nile, in and of itself well worth a visit to this sadly unappreciated museum. We were wowed! After visiting the museum, we also enjoyed about the town and took in the views of the Alban Hills. Makes for a most wonderful day trip.

“On top of the hill!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

The museum is not that big. It presents a good sample of historic objects which go several centuries B.C. It was great to see figures from Fortuna and the matronas, sculptures of important Romans and religious art. The most impressive was the set of mosaics, and particularly the one describing the Nile.
