We spent 5 days of bliss at the Furore Inn. What a find! I don't really want to write this review as hopefully this place will remain as unspoilt as it is now!
The location is marvellous, with spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast. It is not in a village, which means it is a haven of tranquility from the bustling towns of Positano and the like - so a luxury to return after a day with the throng to a peaceful prosecco on the terrace overlooking the 3 pools and the gorgeous views beyond.
The rooms are not large, but really nicely furnished with a big bed (although our bath could have been a bit bigger) and each room has its own private terrace with flowering pots, complete with deckchairs and brolly overlooking the sea. Heavenly.
On a practical note the hotel has a timetabled shuttle bus service to the nearby towns and sights, however we had hired a car (much against advice from friends) and found this to be a good option - if you are happy driving on tiny bendy roads with italians!! - as it gave us more freedom in the evening when the shuttle service is finished as the taxis are hideously expensive.
The staff at Furore are all absolutely lovely and could not have done more to help make our stay perfect. The two restaurants are very good but it was nice to eat out (De Vincenze's in Positano especially good) as it gave more of a taste of the region.
We had a 'roman circuit' included in our deal with the hotel - the spa is lovely and relaxing - but sadly did not have chance to use the rest of the spa facilities which looked most enticing.
Would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing break in luxury. So sad to be back in blighty!

My wife and I, along with another couple, spent one week at the Furore Inn. The reason for our visit was to participate in a cooking class that featured four personal classes. The Head Chef personally led the class. He was wonderful, and always positive.
Even though the husbands were somewhat reticent about spending vacation time in a kitchen, we were both hooked after the first class.

The resort itself overlooks the sea, and the beauty of the water and the local lemon trees and vineyards all added to the charm.
We would definitely return to the Amalfi Coast and to the Furore Inn.

Lastly the restaurant in the hotel, Italian Touch, provided us with some of the very best food and wine we have ever tasted. The dining experience was superb. During the week we had dinner at some other well-known restaurants in the area, but none came close to the Furore Inn restaurant.

Having spent the summer on a working holiday in Italy, I ended my trip on the Amalfi Coast. The Furore Inn had been highly recommended by friends of mine, and knowing them, expectations were high. Driving up to the hotel itself already makes you feel like you are being transported into another word. As a writer, I was left astounded by the exquisite scenery and incredible surroundings the hotel is built amongst. The views from my balcony alone were worth the stay! I had dinner at the The Italian Touch, top class service, and thoroughly enjoyable, and the service throughout my stay was wonderful - very friendly staff. I highly recommend the Roman Circuit in the spa....sooooo relaxing!

Grazie mille to you all at Furore for aiding in the perfect end to my time in Italy.... see you next year!

My husband and I absolutely loved this place. After being away from home for 4 weeks, it was great to drop everything and relax for 3 days and nights. The food and service was absolutely incredible. We are very picky and it was all worth it, even the crazy drive in! Make sure sure you have good instructions as you can miss it and it isn't easy to get turned around on that road!
The rooms are pretty basic, but we didn't spend much time in ours as the pool and beautiful views (even at night) were calling!

  • Liked — The service
  • Disliked — The little bathroom, but we may have booked the last room!

We had a five night stay in September 2007. The weather was pleasant, warm and not scorching. The hotel is built into the side of the cliffs with a most incredible view. You almost feel suspended in mid air. The rooms were slightly worn and in need of mild maintenance but were extremely spacious and comfortable. The lobby and common areas are extremely beautiful and decorated in the classic Mediterranean decor. The manager and staff are extremely nice and helpful and made our stay all the more enjoyable. The pool area is beautiful and spacious. We hiked down to the fiord and the lover trail which was great. The highlight however was breakfast on the terrance in the morning, casual dinner on the same terrance and formal dinner at Italian Touch. This dining room is gorgeous and the food was outstanding: we have eaten in the finest dining rooms and most casual trattorias in Italy and this dinner was top notch. We ended our 2 week trip through tuscany, umbria, and amalfi here and it was a truly memorable experience.
