“The ideal romantic getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2011

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two weeks for our honeymoon. We choose this hotel because it ticked many boxes for us; beautiful setting, balcony sea views, half board and good location. We weren't disappointed.

The staff were really friendly, especially some of the waiting staff and we appreciated the personal touch of the manager who took the time to speak to every guest each evening over dinner.

Our room was spacious and clean. The air conditioning was a blessing as was the lovely balcony which included a sun lounger. Our rooms were cleaned everyday including fresh towels. We had booked a 'superior' room because we wanted to ensure a sea view, however looking back at the hotel website I think we got a 'superior relax' but without the working hydrotherapy bath. The bed was huge and there was plenty of wardrobe space.

Due to focusing on our wedding planning, I had slightly overlooked the actual location of the hotel, thinking we would be in Amalfi town, where in actual fact we were about 5km east - sandwiched between Amalfi and Positano. For us this wasn't a problem, we enjoyed a couple of walks to Amalfi (approx 1 hour and 1/4 at a good pace). We also regularly got the bus, the hotel provide a timetable and you can buy the tickets from them. The buses were cheap, regular, with drop off and pick up right outside the hotel and very entertaining (the roads are very narrow and winding, plus Italian drivers seem to have no fear!) We were able to get to the neighbouring tours of Positano, Praiano, Ravello, then further afield to Sorrento and Pompeii (bus, then a very cheap train). The hotel also had a deal with a local tour guide which organised a boat trip to Capri which included getting transport to and from the hotel. So we didn't feel isolated at all. The days in which we didn't feel like travelling we spent at the hotel's private lido where the sunloungers were free (unlike Amalfi beaches) and we could swim around the coastal area. There was also a jacuzzi bath in the garden area which over looked the sea.

The restaurant, in our opinion was top quality. For half board you had a choice of different pastas/a soup or salad for a first course, a meat or fish course for second, a side and a dessert. The choice was different every night, therefore we ended up eating at the hotel most nights. The food always tasted fresh.

All in all, it was perfect for what we wanted. Two weeks to relax, but also the option to travel about if we wanted. If you want a lively spot with lots of local amenities on your doorstep then this might not be for you, however, for our wants and needs it was perfect. The real selling point for this hotel is the stunning location, offering incredible coastal views, not only from the balcony, but from restaurant and gardens too. It's quiet, beautiful and very romantic.

We stayed here for two weeks and the room (A junior suite) was spacious and clean, but the balcony was disappointing as it didn't get the sun unlike the other rooms. The restaurant food was very inconsistant, one day you got a whole sea bass, thena week later I ordered the same dish and it was half the size but the same price.

We were there to get married in Positano and 9 of us stayed in the hotel but they did nothing to make our day special which again was very disappointing. The staff didn't even wish us congratulations (apart from the cleaners who were lovely).

Also, the hotel is completely isolated - no shops apart from the hotel one which is very expensive and only sells a few bits. There is a bus stop right outside you which takes you into Amalfi or Positano but the buses are an experience and get a bit tiresome after a few days.

Negative aside, the hotel location is stunning, the lido (when open) is fantastic and the spa pool is a welcome relief when you want to cool off. I would say this is a great hotel to stay at for a couple of nights but any longer is too long.

Wonderful service and beautiful views!  My husband and I used La Conca Restaurant on our wedding day for our reception/dinner.  The service at the restaurant was superb.  Besides the phenomenal service on the actual wedding day, Assunta (name of manager) was helpful throughout the entire planning process and went above and beyond to make my wedding evening unforgettable.  Assunta helped me with my table decorations, favors, and wedding cake.  On top of that, the food was delicious and reasonably priced.  Overall, if you are planning a wedding in the Amalfi coast or just looking for a great place to have dinner, La Conca Restaurant will exceed expectations.

We stayed here for two nights recently as part of an Italy wide tour.
On arrival we were greeted with stunning views and a lovely room. There is a small balcony, with enough space for two seats and a table from which to enjoy the vista of the Amalfi Coast.
The staff and waiters at the hotel were all wonderfully friendly and were very willing to accommodate our needs and anything we asked for. The room was cool, with air conditioning, a tiled floor and a spacious bathroom.
There were aspects of the hotel that could have been much better - the restaurant was definitely over-priced and the food nothing special, possibly with it being a slightly captive audience as Conca dei Marini is a very small village (although within striking distance of Amalfi if you don't mind catching the bus, or are driving). The service charge of 6 Euro for anything being brought to the room was also unnecessarily excessive, especially as the rooms are already quite pricey.
There is a nice little swimming area where you can also sunbathe - it is a 5 minute walk down some steps to an enclosed area of the cliffs.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to explore the Amalfi - it is a good hotel with the capacity to be outstanding.

We are happy the hotel met our expectations- turned out to be
picturesque, elegant, romantic and quiet. The view takes the breath away, especially
if you are a resident of a megapolis and you need relaxation and harmony.Staying at La Conca Azzurra we combined the quieteness and beaty of the location of the hotel
with the possibility to do sightseeing trips ( Ravello, Capri, Vesuvius ) from the charming near-by town of Amalfi. Really tye best holiday our family ever had.

The views from the hotel are magnificent but for the price it was a disappointment. The balcony of the room we stayed in had a terrible dark grey cement floor which was quite depressing and that was their junior suite. There is no beach or pool, just a jacuzzi cooled down for dipping in and a few beds to lie on. There are millions of steps to get down to the sea where you can have a free boat take you to a beach but then you have to climb back up in the heat. We had opted for half board at 20 euros per person per night not including wine and it was not good. Better to try the al la carte menu I think. The breakfast was ok but you had to pay 8 euros extra for an omelette. There is a bar to have a pre-dinner drink but it was really hot with no air con, or fans but the rooms have air con. The wait staff were not that pleasant and we felt rushed and had to choose our 3 courses all at once. We felt like second class citizens for choosing the half board menu and yet the hotel was charging us 260 euros a night. Definitely will not return.
