My husband and I stayed at le Terrazze the last two weeks of August. We completely enjoyed our stay. The view from our balcony (front view) was simply spectacular, probably one of the best views your will find on the amalfi coast. Our room was very clean, the bathroom newly renovated. There is air conditioning, firm beds. The beach is very accessible: 200 hundred steps down to the public beach. It is a long walk down but this is to be expected on the amalfi coast because the towns are constructed on the cliffs, the pathway down is really charming and again the view is just gorgeous. The hotel only serves breakfast with a variety of items mainly cold (fresh pastries, hard boiled eggs, cheese, fruits, cereal etc..). The coffee is very good. For diner, we found that it was no problem to find a good meal near the hotel: the beach has 3 restaurants were you can find a good, affordable meal. There is a restaurant further up that offers transfer to and from the hotel, the hotel simply calls the restaurant that comes down to pick you up a few minutes later. The hotel offers a bar service which few people know about, you can enjoy a drink on the beautiful terrasse, you simply need to make the request at the reception. Also, it is important to know that the Italian restaurants usually do not serve dinner before 7:30 pm. The owner of the hotel Marcello speaks English and French. The personnel is very helpful in terms of informing you of the different excursions organized on the coast and making reservation for you.
There is a bus stop a few steps from the hotel where you can catch a bus to Amalfi (15 minutes) or towards Positano-Sorrento. A few tips on the SITA bus: be sure to have a reference point when going back to the hotel because the bus does not make all the stops, they only make the stops on request so you must know where to get off. To ask to get off, you ring the bell or call «fermata» (stop). Do not ask for the hotel le Terrazze because the bus driver might not know what you are talking about. The bus stop is at the hotel Belvedere, so to be well understood it is better to ask for the «fermata» Hotel Belvedere. Bare in mind that the drivers do not speak much English and are usually very impatient which is kind of understandable because driving a bus on those roads is absolutely crazy. Those SITA buses will give you quite a ride.
