I was lucky enough to travel with seven friends through Italy in August and September, 2008. We ate magnificently throughout the trip and gained new insights into Italian food and wine. During our week-long stay in a villa overlooking the Amalfi Coast, we sampled many restaurants, but favored Acquapazza above the others, for the excellent, friendly service, the beautiful and simply prepared dishes featuring excellent seafood, and the lovely atmosphere. This is a special place, in a quiet little town that we all agree was hands-down an improvement over the luxury of Positano. Here you will be dining with locals and your gestures toward speaking Italian will be appreciated, but of course their English is better than your Italian. Ask them to bring you three courses of what's best on offer, and you will have a meal you will not forget.
