“Wonderful place on Amalfi Coast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

I spent five nights here with a tour group in April of 2013 and I found it lovely. The location on the edge of Vietri and near Salerno is wonderful. I could not believe how large my rooms was. My view out the balcony was the port of Salerno but still the Mediterranean is awesome to wake up to. The bed was a bit stiff but not too bad.

Room Tip: Room with a view of the sea.

The hotel is well worth the price ... the rooms were large by eruo standards and clean. A littel dated but still very comfortable.

The view, well if you like looking at the Port of Salerno then you are in luck. Not a picture perfect view but still not all that bad.

The resturant for breakfast was very good and well appointed. Staff was cordial and friendly.

Would I stay here again... yes without a doubt.

Stayed for 5 nights at the Lloyd's Baia in April 2013. Pros: Very clean; gorgeous local ceramic tile flooring everywhere, lovely views of the harbor, nice little balconies in each room with table and chairs. Cons: Loud, loud, loud! The tile flooring amplifies everything, and as the hotel is in need of major updating, we could literally converse through the walls with our neighbors on either side, and hear EVERYTHING going on in their bathrooms. Our bathroom fan did not work so we could do nothing to compensate for the noise. The hotel is next to a working container-ship harbor, which was not too terribly busy while we were there, but I am sure is obnoxious in mid-summer. The doors on the shower stall (no tub) kept falling off, and the stall was so small that larger-than-average people would have a really hard time moving around. The elevator to the beach has been "under repairs" for over 3 years so there was no way to get to the beach; the pool was filled in by a landslide several years ago and no progress has been made to re-open it. Furnishings are very "tired". I'll bet this place was spectacular in its heyday, but when you have black duct-tape covering rips in the yellow leather couches in the lobby, you have a problem.

my view, my large bed, close to bus stop, love the tiled rooms and the different flavors of each one

room too hot, couldn't turn heat off or down, 2 SITA and 2 local buses drove right past me at the fermata outside, they will charge you to get on beach in summer (i was here in summer season too), hotel food is mediocre, slim pickens for restaurants, town too small they need to shape up the local restaurants

Beach disco on weekends from midnight until 5:30 am made sleep impossible! Loud obnoxious dj and music pounding on the beach under our balconies. Breakfast was fair but unremarkable. Room was uncomfortably hot. Hotel staff fields numerous complaints regarding disco and shrugs it off. Wish we had known so we could have found a place to sleep.

Room Tip: Don't stay on weekends. Rooms facing the water are hot.

This hotel overlooks vietri's small port. It has a private beach reachable via a lift. We were a bit disappointed by hearing there was a surcharge of 5 euros just to get to the beach.. Anyway ask for a room with view on the port. You get a small balcony with table and chairs, good to relax watching ships roll in and out. Getting around inside the hotel may be' confusing, as there are two
separate lifts, one to get to the restaurant and the other from the restaurant to reception. Breakfast room has a nice view, but breakfast itsekf is well below international standards. Avoid the internal restaurant as merls are unimaginative and overpriced. Enjoy the location ..it's worth the money anyway..
