“All Inclusive was a must!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Myself and my girlfriend decided to try Rhodes for a week. We booked through Thomsons and chose this resort as it was Adult Only. We had booked half board but on arrival chose to upgrade to All Inclusive and thank god we did. We were there for the last week in October so was only 2 weeks before the end of the season. On these dates the "town" of Kolymbia is basically shut so if you don't do all inclusive you either starve at lunchtime or pay for the buffet everyday. The food in the restaurant was great - fantastic choice of dishes and some nice themed evenings - Italian and Asian nights went down a storm. At lunchtime the greek burgers are to die for!! Also as all inclusive drinks were free all day and night whether it be a beer or cocktail by the pool, wine with dinner or the quite common for us bottle of water before bed.

The weather at this time of year is warm but not too hot which is perfect. Also we had some fantastic evening Thunder and Lightning storms although we did have a couple of power cuts because of these. One night the lightning was like a constant flashing light which was annoying but not the fault of the hotel.

Our room was Huge and very comfortable and the balcony had a nice uninterrupted view of the sea. A couple of extra english channels on the TV would have been nice. The bar with the terrace area was a nice place to relax after dinner.

The entertainment was not so great - it was end of the season and such felt like not much effort was being put into it and found the entertainment reps a bit annoying personally.

The main downside and the reason for not getting 5 out of 5 was the cats - there are a number of cats roaming around the pool area and inside the restaurant too which is unhygenic for sure. The worse thing is they can be quite aggresive and have no worries jumping up and stealing un attended loungers. Also some regular older guests have named them and fed them which did not help. If this was cat free it would be perfeect.

All in all a really enjoyable stay and would def recommend to others - especially cat lovers!

Room Tip: A sea view is a must as a minimum requirement - the pool view would not be that good!

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel for our holiday the last week in October. Transfer from the airport was 40 mins and we were the first hotel to be dropped off. We didn't book all inclusive, however when we arrived we upgraded. This being because it was the end of the season and there was not any other places to go and eat out. We only had to pay 20 euros each per day to upgrade which was not much more than what it would have been to have went all inclusive from the beginning. After our drink on arrival,we were shown to our rooms and our bags were delivered not long after. The food choices were brilliant, they had everything from salads to 6/7 different types of international foods and the desserts were so good I couldn't help but go back for more, sometimes more than once. The hotel itself was beautiful, my first impressions were wow! The pool was fab, all be it a tad cold. The beach was right outside the hotel too and was very clean and felt quite private. The pool bar offered a good choice of drinks and all the staff were very friendly. We had a sea view room on the second floor and the views were exceptional, our personal favourite was watching the thunder and lightening coming in over the sea. One thing I would mention about this hotel is that there were a few stray cats wandering around inside and out, however were very friendly. (Like to steal your sun loungers)The hotels entertainment was okay, it was the end of the season though so I can't really complain about that.
Overall our experience was amazing, no kids running about and we chilled for the entire week. Brilliant - highly recommend it :-)

Room Tip: Pay extra for the sea view option - well worth it.

If you are looking for a luxury hotel with great food and service look no further. The room was clean and spacious (not the best I have stayed in but nice) The view was fantastic overlooking the sea with a nice size balcony. The pool and grounds were great with plenty of chairs and space around you.
What sets this hotel apart from the rest is the service and the fantastic food it really is 5 star !
If you are looking for location then for me its not the place to stay as the hotel has very little around it but if you are looking to put your feet up and be looked after then look no further. The only one complaint I have is that all 5 star hotels should have free wifi in the rooms.

My wife and I decided to visit this hotel for the first time for a mid October week, after looking at it for a number of years.
We have been to a number of the Atlantica group hotels and this hotel seemed to offer a wide range of room selections and more space outside.
We weren't disappointed, we were looked after from the moment we arrived, until we left.
The hotel itself is gorgeous, with little positive things such as a 'pillow menu', which really is very welcome.
We tended to eat in the Atrium most evenings, as we enjoyed the quietness and personal touch.
We ate in the Al a carte once during our stay and really enjoyed the experience. It is slightly frustrating though, to have to pay for a quality piece of steak when we used the 'stone grill' option.
All the staff were extremely friendly and were happy to talk to us, even though they were very, very busy.
We stayed in a beach front suite. Once we got used to having passers by looking into our room, as they passed by we really settled down. We also really enjoyed the convenience of lying on our own cabana right outside our door.
There a couple of niggly little negatives, for instance, the outrageous cost of hiring a, far to small safe for a week, and also, that I had to renew the gym key fob on a daily basis (I actually lost interest in going to the gym as I couldn't be bothered doing this everyday). Locating the gym was very interesting, as the very small gym is not where you think it should be, next to the spa, but tucked away on the top floor as far from the public areas as possible - Very strange.
As we went mid October, the local area (hotels and shops) was fast closing down for the season, which made walking/running around it,a bit depressing.
The beach is fine, although sandy in places and lots of pebbles in others.
Overall, we were very impressed, and have cancelled a planned Summer 2013 holiday to Crete and booked a swim up room here.
Thankyou to all the staff who have worked so very hard to ensure a great experience for us.
Looking forward to seeing you in July 2013. Gary & Lorna

Room Tip: We stayed in a beach front suite which gives you your own cabana, which is great for a mid afternoon...

like the other reviews have said this hotel is a Thomson couples only hotel, that means no kids, every one else seems to have had a glass of champagne on their arrival....not us..maybe thats because we arrived at 0100 am , fine then why not offer it to us in the morning ok its only a drink but its the principle that counts.when we opened the curtains to look at the sea view that we hsd booked were somewhat disapointed as we could not see the sea???.when i pointed this out to the rep she told me that they dont check the rooms for views they just print what the hotel says ,oh dear thats not to clever... still .On the bright side room clean, food good, but a bit pricy we were half board and if you orderd a coffee at the pool side it would cost you 4euros,thats ok i hear you say ,sure but from a push button machine ,i dont think so .also why do we have to pay for the sunbeds on the beach.we didnt at the other hotel we have sayed at in lindos.as for the local area nice shops and bars but a bit gruby could do with a road sweeper or 5.in general very nice place and hotel needs to go some to make it a 4or5 star, would i go back um no i dont think so but i will say half of the problems were of thomsons making.

Room Tip: we had a room on the first floor, and they said it would have a sea view...no only the rooms on the n...

My wife and I stayed here at the end of September in a superior room and had a wonderful time.
The Atlantica Imperial is an adults only hotel which is great when you want to relax.
The hotel has daily activites - walk around Kolimbia, cooking lessson, cocktail making etc etc which are all good fun as well as the daily quiz with Richard (who is a superstar and works really hard to make everyone feel included).

Food is good quality and variety including theme nights.
The usual soups, salads and hot food stations. Sweets were very good too.
Went to the a la carte once which was incuded in the all inclusive package and the food was of good quality.

There is a nice pool area but we went to the beach to sunbathe which cost 4 euros per sun bed. The beach is shingle so take some beach shoes or cheap flip flops. The beach was never busy but maybe this was due to the time of year we went.

Excursions provided by Thomson were many and varried. We went on the tale of 2 and half cities, Rhodes by knight and Symi all of which were very good fun and tour guide Paul was excellent. Very knowledgeable.

Staff at the hotel really made us feel so welcome and really made our holiday special.

Well done Atlantica!

We visited this hotel for a week in October and loved it. This is a Thomson Couple hotel and there are no children allowed. Everything about this hotel is wonderful from the check in (refreshing towel and glass of champagne upon arrival) to the time you sadly have to leave. There is so much positive stuff to day about this hotel that it is too much to put on a review. So if you fancy a complete escape with amazing service and wonderful looking bedrooms please get in touch

Room Tip: We booked a superior room with sea view. Well worth the money
