“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2014

We stayed here the first week in may 2013! After finding out i had booked the first week of the season i was a little worried.... But the place is amazing!!!
We travelled as a family with a 5 and 4 year old and they had a fantastic time. We had a swim up pool which was beautiful. The food was nice fresh and i feel in live with the fresh beautiful salads and plenty of stuff for the kids to try too....
We watch a wedding over on the relax area of the resort and it was beautiful.
Overall if you have children they will love it and if you don't i would ask why u want to go to a holiday village really ? the relax side is the best pool area to relax with a cocktail .... I would defiantly love to return to the holiday village ..... Thumbs up from us all

We stayed on a family holiday at Rhodes summer 2013. The rooms are large and luxurious. Large pool. Hotel staff nice and welcoming. The only thing we're disappointed him was the food. Supply of food at breakfast was quite thin from all the hotels we stayed in the past at Rhodes. The hotel's location is good and close to lots of attractions and reasonable price.

Stayed here last October so a bit late with my review.

Hotel offers some of the best accommodation Ive stayed in, rooms are brand new and immaculate. Hotel Facilities are fantastic for Kids who should never complain of being bored - if they do I would say you need to take a good look at them...entertainers are hard working and are excellent and entertain kids from morning till night.

The hotel is really on its own and doesn't really have loads to do around it - there is a small local town but I think since all the Hotels are AI and the financial crash in Greece most shops and bars are empty of customers and are selling stock that's about ten years old..which is sad really.

The hotel restaurant is woefully too small for the size of the complex, it gets very busy although never a shortage of food..just ten other people queuing in front of you for it - food is good though.

If you stay on the relax side the pool is in the shade most of the day and then you have to walk under an underpass to get to the activity side - this becomes a bit of a pain if you need to nip back to your room.

Heated pool far too small, if you want a sun bed around this pool then set your alarm for about 6am - I witnessed a number of arguments here regarding towels and sun beds.

My only real complaint regarding this place is that it is full of the sort of people who would go to Haven Holiday camps if they didn't get as much dole money, only here they get free Booze all day and take full advantage of it - and take it from me I like a drink.

To sum up THIS IS BUTLINS IN THE SUN, not a problem if you like that sort of thing - I don't particularly so wouldn't stop at another holiday village again - no fault of the hotel though who provide great facilities.

Traveled as a family of 7 including children and grand children

Bit late with this review but what a great hotel. Split into 4 section and by roadways there are the Deluxe, Activity, relax and Tropical sections. We stayed in the Relax area but had use of all the hotels.

Our room was second floor in the Relax area, which we had asked for, perfect, overlooking the pool area. Spotlessly clean and modern. There are swim up rooms but not for me as this isolate you from everything.

There are several a la carte restaurants as well as the main buffet restaurant which had lots of choice as well as show cooking.

First Choice entertainment team very active and involved everyone in their escapades. Staff really good and welcoming.

Several pool areas and a small splash park, all with sunbeds and you can use any of them.

Only down sides are that the hotel is not on the beach ( 500-700m away) and it was on the expensive side.

Would I go again, probably.

We stayed in August 2013 after a long search for our first Family Holiday away with our young children (2.5 & 4.5 years of age) without grandparents! We had stayed in Villas before this in Portugal and Spain to give us the flexibility needed with young children, so this hotel needed to be right for us.

After a long search on Tripadvisor, recommendations and reviews we opted for Holiday Village Rhodes. We stayed in a ground floor family swim up room in the Royal Deluxe Area.

The Hotel as a whole is extremely good for families with excellent facilities, clean pools and nice guests. The Deluxe area in particular is superb and I would strongly recommend paying the extra to get a room here. It is separated from the main hotel and so has an air of exclusivity and calm about it; you can definitely feel where your extra money has gone.

The family swim up rooms are great, with direct access to the pool, partitioned children room (sliding doors). The children’s room has two very comfortable single beds with enough floor space in between for a them to play, a Playstation (charge for controllers) and dedicated kids flat screen TV (built in DVD) and a lockable sliding door to the balcony with an extra lockable safety gate, should you want to leave the sliding doors open for some air. The adult bedroom area has a 40" flat screen TV, very comfortable King Size bed with nice bed linen and access to the en-suite.

My wife and I travelled a lot on our own before children and we have stayed in some very good 5 star Hotels. What you must remember about a Hotel like the Holiday Village Rhodes, is that is purpose built for family holidays and caters for a lot of people. I would say that is a very good 5 Star rated family hotel, meaning that it has 5 star qualities with families and children in focus. If you are expecting the Bellagio or Burj al Arab, then you are misguided as this level of 5 Star hotel will be hard, if not impossible to find in Europe with the same level of care and attention for families at this cost.

That said, with the Deluxe Area in mind you will receive a very good level of service; an exclusive restaurant, direct access to the spa, good availability of sun beds and the right sized pool for all the guests.

We did not have a bad meal at any of the restaurants and ate at all of the a la carte restaurants - all are truly excellent but the Mexican and Italian restaurants are of particular note. The main restaurant is very busy and can get crowded but again, if you are in the Deluxe area it gives you the choice of going there if you want a livelier night. That said, the choice is excellent in the main restaurant and for our children, it was their favourite restaurant as there was typical "home" type fayre like fish fingers, nuggets. Spag boll and Heinz Ketchup.

All staff were great but of particular note was Celina Savvouli Kleinen, the front office Manager. From start to finish she was the perfect host and attended to our requirements as if the hotel only had 20 guests staying. There was a small issue with our room one day and she personally ensured everything was sorted out for us. Thank you Celina, we hope to see you again in the future.

We came away from the holiday relaxed, happy, with great family memories and with a feeling that, even though it had cost a significant amount of money, we had got a very good level of service and quality back. We also met some really lovely people and the kids made some great holiday pals.

In summary, if you are looking for a holiday that provides excellent family services, with family 5 star level of qualities, a touch of class and you are prepared to pay for it, then book this hotel in the Deluxe Area, ideally with a family swim up room. The main hotel area is still very good and I am not sure of the cost difference, but I can understand why some people may feel it is a little busy. As a happy medium, the Relax area would be a good choice and I would suspect good value too.

We will try one of the other Sensatori Hotels in 2014.

We went here in May 2013 and had the best time ever.We stopped in the deluxe side with a swim up room,it was pure luxury. The rooms just looked like the broucher and was very clean. The pools where clean and the staff where very helpful, they could not do enough for you. They where very friendly and went out of there way to make this the perfect holiday. The food was amazing the best we have ever had at a all inclusive hotel. The kids clubs where great,we hardly seen our 9 year old daughter. She wanted to go to every session nearly,it was hard to keep her away. She did climbing, aeroball, canoeing, chocolate parties, played in the water park an much more. Any holiday we pick this year will be hard to match this one. We will probably go to a holiday village again. If it wasn't the cost of going in school holidays we would be going back this year. This is really a great place for family's

Room Tip: We would recommend a swim up room in the deluxe area. We even had a jacuzzi on the terrace

We took our one year old (almost 2) to this hotel, as holiday villages came recommended to us and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful modern hotel, with large pools and great activity pool with lots of slides/lazy river etc. Made taking our little one on his first holiday easier, having so much entertainment on throughout the day and evening. The staff were really friendly & enthusiastic too (although it was the beginning of the season, so I guess this could've worn off a few weeks in!).

However, I didn't feel the facilities were worthy of the 5 star rating, having a few essentials missing - a fridge was provided in the room, but not even a bottle of water was put in it - every other 5* all inc we've stayed at would normally have water/soft drinks in the fridge at least, as standard. I think bottled water is given out in the deluxe area - not worth the extra few hundred each though!

Meal times at the restaurants are quite restricted, only opening at 12.30-14.30 for lunch - not ideal when you have a hungry child and the only option at the pool bar is a crusty cheese sandwich that's been sat there all day! We would sneak fruit such as bananas & oranges out of the main buffet and keep in our fridge, so that our little one had snacks throughout the day - but we did notice signs in the restaurant telling you not to do this - although I thought we were in an all inclusive?!

Choice at the bars were limited food wise, ice creams could barely be defined as this, I reckon the milk content in these was probably under 5%, tasted more like sorbets they amount they were watered down! Other than this I remember you had a few choice of small sandwiches such as cheese/ham - nothing too exciting!

Due to the restriction on opening times, you find the restaurant does get really crowded and they would run out of childrens cutlery/plates etc, so having to give a glass an adult cutlery to our toddler at meal times most days. Staff at the restaurants were really helpful though and couldn't get us a high chair quick enough.

We had the luxury of getting there at the beginning of the season, when it was lovely and quiet - but that soon changed when an abundance of flights arrived, half way through our holiday and it then went from quiet and relaxing to chaotic & loud - especially around the activity pool (or waterpark as I think the website referred to it!).

If you also have toddlers, a tip if your little one(s) still like their milk - we would fill a bottle up with the milk from the canister in the buffet restaurant each night & put in our fridge for bed time - the alternative is to buy some from the shop downstairs, but the fridges in rooms aren't huge, so we found this easier - although we did feel like we were stealing, keep doing this, despite paying £850 each for the week!

Quality and choice of food was fine, I can be a little picky, but there was always quite a few nice options to try each day and a small, but good selection for the kids.

Other than these small negatives, which I think can be easily reversed, we had a really nice time there. I wouldn't personally rush back, as it was a little too chaotic for us, but perhaps if we had a few children of different ages, it'd suit them all. The decor of the hotel/rooms/restaurants etc was really nice - modern and minimalist. Not so sure it's worth what we paid though, as for the same price pp, we could stay in the carribean all inc 5*, where you get more value for money - perhaps this is just a european thing, as we've not been all inc before in europe.

Room Tip: Be careful if you're booking a swim up room, as half of these are in the shade most of the day...
