“Great family holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Visited the Holiday Village Rhodes activity area in August 2012 with my partner and 2 children aged 6 & 1.
On arrival we were greeted with drinks, given wristbands and taken to the restaurant where a mini buffet was provided.
Rooms-
Large spacious and modern and clean, as we were travelling with an infant we requested a cot.......the cot was broken we immidetly contacted reception who agreed to send maintenance round, I think he must have got lost as he turned up 3 days later!
Be careful if your on the ground floor and are travelling with infants as the balcony is not safe as it has no safety bars kids can fall right off it.

Food-
Snack bar was ace...........fresh gyros kebabs, burgers, hotdogs, pizza and fresh cold sandwiches,
Buffet restaurant was also very good, the restaurant staff were brilliant especially aleks who my kids loved. Plenty of choice for breakfast & dinner.

Entertainment-
The entertainment staff worked very hard day and night, not much fun entertainment for adults.
Usually starts with i5 live, then a tribute.......however I did quite enjoy barlows take that tribute.
I did notice entertainment seemed to be repeated in week 2.

The resort its self is beautiful, my lad was disappointed he was not allowed on the slides in the waterpark as he was under 10 :-(
The biggest let down of the holiday was the location of the hotel, middle of nowhere, very boring and little to do outside the resort other than Star Bar which is across the road from the hotel......we spent most nights here keeping my son occupied with crazy golf and the bouncy castle after the entertainment in the hotel had finished.

A must is a visit to tsambika beach, the beach is pure sand unlike the others which are rocky.

Would I go back.............purely because of the location no!

Off to the Grand Riviera Princess in Mexico 26/3/13 for 2 weeks, keep an eye out for my review!

I hope you have found this review usefull.

Manish

Room Tip: Definately worth upgrading to a family swim up room.

We went to this hotel for 10 nights and are a couple with a 2 and 5 year old.As soon as we arrived check in was a breeze and we were greeted off the coach with someone taking our heavy bags.We were met in the lobby with a glass of champagne each and an orange juice for the little ones. The hotel is absolutley spotless and the decoration was really modern and the rooms were very nice with a lcd tv etc.The food is very nice and there is something for everyone to eat no matter what you like. The pools are very nice and the kids loved the water park ,we also enjoyed the swim up bar.Entertainment is good but very child orientated but we didnt mind.

They also have a cinema in the hotel which you can use when you like.Theres not much to do in the local area .Theres a couple of bars and a stone beach by the hotel, however the location was not a problem as the hotel was so nice and there was some good excursions,we particuarly loved the pirate boat trip where you have chance to jump in the sea and visit some beaches.

Overall the holiday was excellent and the staff were brilliant and great with kids.Would definatley return.weather was scorching also :)

In our group the ages of the children ranged from 1 year to 10 years and there was plenty for all ages to do. The kids clubs and entertainment were perfect. The resort and rooms were clean, tidy and beyond our expectations. All pools were clean and well maintained along with the grounds. The food was excellent with plenty of choice at every mealtime, even to cater to the fussiest of eaters to the most adventurous, and all food was clearly made fresh, they even had a kids section which proved to be a hit with the youngsters. All staff were friendly and willing help. Would definitely recommend and would go back in a heart beat.

Room Tip: Swim up rooms are perfect if you have little ones that sleep in the day because you can swim and sun...

We travelled in October 2012 and stayed for 10 nights and absolutely loved it. Th accommodation was superb and was very well maintained by the wonderful maids. The pools were great, we have a 6 yr old and a 4 yr old and they loved them. The kids entertainment was hilarious. The food was amazing, varied and delicious. The restaurants were spotless and a pleasure to eat in. One thing that really stuck out for us were the Greek staff. They are an absolute credit to First Choice and I hope they are recognised for this. The restaurant staff were unbelievable, so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, they were especially good with the children. A wonderful holiday and I will definitely return.

Loved this holiday village. Everything was great, from our swim up room which we were lucky to have sun on our terrace most of the day to the food which was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. First choice staff fab too. Our little boy enjoyed the entertainment a lot and he's was only two. I really can't say enough about this hotel. Clean, spacious just perfect. We hired a car from the guy in reception and we went into Rhodes. The old town was an eye opener lol. Worth a trip. Don't get conned by some of the people on the street in Rhodes giving you scratch cards as its a con to get u to buy into some sort of timeshare. We also went to the out door spa which was nice and then seven springs i think it was called. We went through the long dark tunnel and it seemed to go on forever lol. The car seat for the car were a bit ropey to be honest but was safe enough.

We travelled to HV Rhodes in Aug 2012, for 7 nights with our 2 year old son.
We had an amazing time. My little boy loved it!
We had a swim up room on the relax side, much better I thought. Although if we went again, we would prob upgrade to the deluxe side, then you could use the deluxe restaurant on the same side.
My little boy used the crèche , staff were brilliant and he had a great time. We also went to the water slides every day, although that doesn't open till 10.
Staff at the restaurant were amazing! Had our little boy high fiving them every night!
The night time entertainment was great for kids. Although I thought it came on a little late.
You could honestly be on the go all day here, so much to do.
We also loved our swim up room!
We got a taxi to rhodes old, which was nice at tea time, not too hot walking round all the old streets.
Beach about 5 mins away, not much to say, just Peebles!
We've travelled the world and stayed in many 5 star, and been to 3 Holiday Villages, so have a good idea on holidays. This place was brilliant, although very expensive for Greece I thought! Would love to go back next year, but really expensive.

Great for family's with young children.
Overall - Amazing family holiday. :-)

We Traveled in September we booked the swim up room in the relax side , not a bad choice btw , our first encounter with the Holiday Reps was not the greatest , we were pointed towards the coach pick up area a where a number of Thompson/choice , reps stood chatting , after disengaging one we were pointed towards our coach, We were very surprised that a rep was not traveling on the coach with us , which adds some confusion later, as we were not told how the village operated and what was available.

Our bags were taken to our room , while we checked in, with a warm glass of sparkling wine and OJ, Again very little info gain here, we were given various documents telling us where and when the welcome party would be next day.

there are buses outside to local beaches and a land train into town , would have been nice to be told this on our arrival and not found out ourselves in the last few days of our holiday

One thing I will say is that you only get a bottle of water on arrival if its a late flight, other than this you have to buy a bottle at the shop, and refill it at the bars etc, great for a 5 sun resort huh?

The room was really nice , however again no info was given , so our room was not cleaned for a few days until we discovered the lights on the door switch had to be turned on and off to let the maid know when to clean .

We had no issues with sun beds on this side of the resort, although you still have people putting out towels early

Some guest were irritated by the fact to get to their room they had to walk round the complex to get there unless you wanted a paddle or swim, this was not an issue for us we had the end room, most of the rooms are in the sun for 3/4 hours a day at some stage of the day.

I must say this Holiday was for my son who is six , and he loved every minute of it, great activities , brilliant kids club reps, he loved the evening shows , and they actually changed the bingo time to after the kids show .

Adult entertainment is Poor, the alcohol served is cheap and nasty, cocktails weak and flavorless, the ice cream served is brand less,I have read other reviews , and I wonder about where these people have eaten or been before, there was loads of food available , but poorly prepared and cooked , apart from some odd exceptions, as for the ala cart restaurants for get it , we went to both twice , because we just thought we ordered the wrong meal, they seem to try to over whelm you with the amount of food.

The deserts look fantastic , but lack any taste apart from sugar, all synthetic cream or cake base and iced over, there are a few exceptions , but not many

an example for desert streamers , easy to make you would think, we got a biscuit with synthetic cream and coffee pored on top, I had mussles should be great we are on a island sea food abundance , I got frozen fish in a horrid warm water slosh and a price of french bread in it soaked , yuk, and on it went, the spaghetti was great my little lad says.

I seem like I am moaning to much but paying £6000 I feel just a little ripped off.

There is a adult bar , which is very nice , but if you want a nice local beer be prepared to pay 2.5 euros extra , I would have thought being AI they could have reduced this charge , as a drink in a bar off the resort is cheaper than this.

there is much more to tell , but that's all I want to say , this is a 3/4 star /sun resort MAXIMUM ,First Choice last choice.

Lazy river is fab ,On the water slides there is a age limit, life guards need to stay off their mobile phones

Don't waste your money upgrading either

For kids unbeatable, for adults sadly lacking

Room Tip: swim up room relax side , read the reviews to which room you would like
