“WOW ......Fantastic, Friendly Hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

We visited the mistral hotel between 15th may and 29th may......travelled as 2 adults and my disabled daughter. When we arrived we were offered a choice of two rooms, but the first one we saw was more than adequate (a family suite on the ground floor which consisted of two rooms with a dividing door and two bathrooms) plenty of space for the wheelchair (a huge thank you to Tonia the receptionist who was fantastic throughout our stay). The room was cleaned regularly, and the housekeeper looked after us well.
The weather was fantastic for the beginning of the season, but the pool was a little cold, but warmed up throughout the day.
The food, what can I say..... Fantastic, always plenty of selection with lots of choice and the desserts where amazing ( I actually had the head chef make me their lemon meringue pie especially for me on the second week on the day I left......it's totally amazing....thank you ).
The staff.......amazing, friendly and very welcoming.......entertainment staff where fantastic and worked extremely hard at keeping us all amused throughout the day and night, big thanks to Darius, Desmond and To-To for all their hard work, and especially at entertaining my 7 year old who thought they were all very funny!. A big huge thank you to Astrid who ran the crèche facility, who entertained my daughter on a few occasions and who became a good friend during our stay.
A huge thank you to George who was working in the main bar during our stay for all his hard work and for keeping my little one so very entertained and for paying her so much attention, she will miss him and his George special cocktails! All the bar staff looked after us well, big thanks to koala the lady at the pool bar during the day.

All in all this is a fantastic hotel, we were made to feel very welcome and at home during our two week stay and we miss everyone there, but watch this space as we will definatley be coming back
to see you all the same time next year x

Hotel is suitable for wheelchair users, complex pretty flat and ramps everywhere, resort itself is flat, but quite hilly if you need to get to the beaches, but best access for beach is down the side of the port royal hotel, definitely worth a trip to the beaches and the harbours x

Room Tip: All the rooms are well maintained and in fab condition, (I loved the fact that the bathrooms had han...

We went for 7 nights, with one child. We resrved a triple room, but get a double with a child bed. The rooms are nice good condition.

The restaurant is good but should take more time with on grill freshly made meats, someties the meat was under cooked. The menu is good overall we had no big issues with food a big selection of local food was great, we were very pleased with the salads and deserts. Very good quality beer, red and white wine, and local spirits cheap ones, and a big selection of soft drinks was served.

The staff very helpful, specialy Panos at the pool bar, and George the restaurant manager, but thanks for Rafal at main bar, cleaners doing well everything was very clean. This hotel has a very good animation team, had a good laugh with them.

We had all inclusive reservation, but was not internet access in the room only at reception area, but was adverted inertnet is in the rooms.
The aircon was not to use free, 7 euros/day, but really you dont need it.

The place is stuning really beautiful places around.
Quiet place good for families, or people who want relax.

Overall good value for your money, would go again, very recommended.

The Mistral is a "spotless" wonderful hotel. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is in a wonderful setting surrounded by high quality loungers and mature colourful gardens. A slight disapointment was the food, but that did pick up towards the end of our stay. The weather was glorious with clear blue skies and hot sunshine everyday. The hotel is situated in the centre surrounded by a wide variety of shops, bars and resteraunts. The family room was more than adequate and the "spa bath tub" was sublime. All in all a very good 7 night break that passed in "the blink of an eye"!

Room Tip: Our "Family room" was on the ground floor, where we were unaffected by any noise or distur...

We went to the Mistral 20-27th May and found a few of the issues below but the teething problems mainly ironed out.
Location: brilliant. A few minutes walk from 3 different beaches. Go to the rockiest one and buy some cheap snorkels. It's crystal clear & you'll see plenty of fish. Hire a car or get the bus and you're located inbetween Lindos and Old Rhodes-both lovely days out!
Hotel facilities: pool lovely and clean, tennis, volleyball and football courts. Rooms are modern and well air-conditioned. Old hair dryer takes a while. Beds comfy compared to some European hotels!
Food & Drink: I always think people that complain about all inclusives are mad BUT it wasn't great. Breakfast was ok, lunch was awful. Nothing is ever labelled and the chef told me the wrong thing so i accidentally ate turkey when I'm a non-meat eater!!! (We ate out for lunch after this) Dinner got better and Greek night was great. As the hotel got busier, things improved during the week. George the barman is so lovely! Drink selection is fairly limited but as we like most things we were happy. Local gin, vodka, rum, beer, wine & a couple of cocktails all inc.
Entertainment: Desmond and Darius work so hard, and try to keep you happy even on their evenings off. They clearly have limited budget for entertainment but this might improve later in the season!

We got a bargain hol for this and had a wonderful week away and met some lovely guests.

Tips: Take mozzy spray and lots of it!

we visited the mistral at the end of may 2013, we found in general it to be an excellent hotel.

the location of the hotel is ideal for the beach, only 5 mins walk. and the local shops, which are even closer,

The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the staff were tireless in maintaining this.

Food was very good. A reasonable variety of dishes on offer every meal and we always found something we liked. No labels were on food so sometimes it was guesswork, but saying that staff were on hand to tell people what the dish was. The buffet style restaurant was very clean with plenty of space and was open for about 2 1/2 hrs per mealtime. Snacks were readily available during the rest of the day at pool bar and were fresh.

room was good quality, and clean, there was a some question over air conditioning,to begin with ours did not work but came on during our stay, some people were told they had to pay a daily fee for the air con, this is a bit of a grey area that needs clarification.

entertainment was provided by a small but dedicated group,Darius and Desmond were tireless in their efforts to keep people entertained. They helped make our holiday. a special thanks to them. Desmond got a new set of darts so he was happy.

Drinks under all inclusive, this was of some concern to some, as it was a bit confusing as to what was available and when, but as a rough guide, soft drinks , beer and wine were available from 10 am until 11pm. The confusion came with spirits as they listed only a few which were free with an outdated price list for others, these were available from 5 pm until 11pm. We were never asked to pay on any occasion.
The lounge bar was open in the evening, and is not quite fitted out properly yet, However George the barman was a true proffessional, and did his very best to keep people happy

The staff were polite and courteous at all time and very helpful.

opening problems.
We visited on the third week of the re-opening, admittedly there were a few issues which needed addressing, however each day that passed issues were being sorted. the teething problems did not affect the quality of our stay.

Overall outcome was a superb holiday, many thanks to all at the Mistral who made that possible.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms could be noisy at night, once bars had closed and people were enjoying themselves.

Arrived 1st day of opening, yes there were some minor problems and hiccups, but nothing major, to spoil our holiday. We had a lovely relaxing and chilled out holiday. Décor of the hotel is very modern. Our room was 210 and overlooked the pool , room was cleaned every day, the food was a bit repetitive but that's what you get when you go all inclusive, would have liked the food to have labelled so you knew what you were eating without having to ask all the time but on the whole it was fine Panos the restaurant manager always friendly and smiling. Entertainment well what can I say it is so bad that it is good, Desmond you are a pro, Darius you are loud, you both done your best and your best made us laugh and have a good time what more could we want, well done. Children's play area needs inprovement. Beach is about 10min walk away and very pebbely don't think it is very safe for children, which is why the play area at the hotel needs to be improved. Rhodes town about 40mins on the local bus and Lindos about 1hr both well worth a visit, also worth a visit is Oasis bar just across the road from the hotel friendly welcoming staff . to sum up had a wonderful holiday hotel staff and guest very friendly, yes we would gladly recommend to family and friends. Holidays are what you make them and we made our's wonderful
We feel we got value for money.

Room Tip: room 210 over looks the pool and pool bar

as previous reviews,i agree with what has been said.we arrived on 1st day of opening 8th-22nd may.was not ready to receive guests a lot still needed to be finished.but i saw a vast improvement in the 2nd week of our stay.the hotel and rooms very clean, staff excellent, the entertainment desmond, darius, toto, brilliant, made it a fab holiday.food did improve and was enjoyable in 2nd week, even went for 2nds,once a week on a tuesday had a greek night very enjoyable.i thought hotel right by beach, but a 5 min walk and read airtours book warned about currents so be careful if you have children, recommended use hotel pools.as for the all inclusive thats my only complaint, thomas cook brouchure states an unlimited amount of hot soft and alcoholic drinks served a minimum 12 hours a day,was limited local spirits served between 5pm-11pm.otherwise in there 12 hour drinks package a tea cup size of wine and lager, also my room card snapped and was charged 5 euros for replacement,it is very easy to visit rhodes town and lindos from here a local bus service, well worth the visit.on the whole a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: stayed in room 204 did not find any problems, but remember the holiday season hasnt started yet
