“Different to what i expected!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

i found the hotel lovely and the place where it was and i wish i could say the same about the food !!!! it was all Greek based and they ruined all the meat by pilling on disgusting sauces. Used the service at Blue bay but slept at the Sunland across the road. The water park was good but i couldn't stay there all day due to the fact that there wasn't enough to do but i liked the fact that you could still get free drinks. the best bar in the hotel you have to pay for and if you don't drink from there your stuck with overused plastic cups, wouldn't get an all inclusive again because we ate out most nights! i wouldn't sugest this place but rhodes it self was beautiful xxx

Room Tip: go for the apartments with or without the pool there nicer than the hotel and make sure the rooms ha...

Well after reading the negative comments about this hotel i was dreading every minute going. Well i was extremly surprised when i got there what a fantastic hotel, staff are really helpful and very friendly, warm and very welcoming. When we got to the hotel we checked in which was really quick, we had a lovely young lad show us to our room and helped with our luggage, when we walked in the room we were amazed at the view we had we could see all the complex and a gorgeous see view which was beautiful. There was no air con remote so the lovely young lad said he will go and get one,we thought see you next week and again was shocked to have him knocking on our door 5 minutes later with a remote. Food is excellent all different varieties for both adults and children, my son is a very fussy eater and he loved the food trying different dishes. Drinks are good and yes you have to que but only for a couple ofminutes the ques go really fast. There are dogs roaming the complex but they dont bother you at all they are lovely and very friendly we wanted to take them home. I thought the planes would be a problem but they were great watching them come over and the kids loved them, you couldnt here the planes of a night time in your hotel room. Greek night was amazing with 18e and adult and kids free and is well worth it as a BBQ on the beach. This is a lovely hotel and cant believe how people can write negativbe comments we had a lovely time here and willdefinately be back again but this time for longer. There is a water park opposite the hotel which is brilliant kids loved the slides and so did my partner we loved going in here and its not deep eitther so was quite happy watching my 8 year old play and go on the slides with out me being to protective. We aranged a trip to Lindos by boat and was amazing but PLEASE BEAWARE if you have a heart problem or health problem then pleas think about this trip, when you get of the boat at Lindos there is a longgggg walk all up hill which i struggled with after having 3 heart attacks 12 weeks ago and the tour rep didnt mention this, you can get a donkey ride from the bottom to the top for 7e but i didnt do it as felt sorry for the donkeys, once you get to the top the views are amazing and we had lunch in a restuarnt and the staff were realy friendly and after gave my 8 year old son a free ice cream. On the way back the boat stopped for the people on boared to take a swim in the ocean and jump of the boat which was lovely to see.

Just got back from the Blue Bay in Kremasti, Rhodes, Greece and what a fab week it was. The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, Noami (waitress in the restaurants) works around the clock, is very efficient and always has a smile on her face, she made us feel as if she wanted to serve us. The bar staff were always helpful and always had a nice word to say to all their customers, the amount of vodka that they serve may be slightly too much tho!! The animation team are excellent, Billie, Dexter, Katrina, Ania and Camille wanted everyone to enjoy without being to pushy, superb team, especially Dex, thanks for everything!! Food got a little repetitive towards the end, always snacks available and drinks and ice cream were plentiful, not a chance to get hungry or thirsty. Ok, so the rooms need a little updating but they were clean and tidy, the cleaners came 6 times a week and left the room immaculate, for the time we spent in the room not sleeping, it was perfect with a fantastic view of the sea. An amazing holiday had all round, thank u Blue Bay!!xx

Room Tip: Ask for a bungalow, away from the main hotel but very quiet!!

There were many aspects of this hotel which were very good.
Every comfort was provided for families to enjoy the pools, the sun and the sea. There were sunbeds and lounge furniture in generous numbers. There was also a peaceful and attractive garden area.
There was a ten minute walk to the main road where there was an excellent bus service into Rhodes. Rhodes was busy town and the old part very pretty.
The hotel was set on a sandy beach and its buildings were very clean and spacious.
In the Hotel children were well catered for with activities and their entertainment staff kept children (and adults) of all nationalities with great enthusiasm and warmth. In fact all staff were friendly and helpful whether in the restaurant or the reception desk. The reception staff in particular had an excellent grasp of English, Russian and other languages.
The range and quality of the food was good.
Snacks were also provided throughout the day and ice creams were free at all times.

In short it was a good location for families and big eaters!
There were several aspects, however, that we did not like.
Though Rhodes Old Town was pretty every restaurant had a customer grabber which we found annoying.
30 minutes.
The Water Park was disappointing as in May it does not open until the latter part of the month and then only between 10 am 2pm.
We were led to believe that we would have a sea view apartment but didn't get one. We were not the only ones.
We did not like the Greek metod of disposing of used toilet tissues. We had come across it before but had forgotten this when we made the booking.
The "all inclusive" element , we learnt, is not for us. The restaurant was overcrowded. There were queues for drinks and tea/coffee. There were few occasions when our table was not bumped into by passing customers or staff. It was very noisy and the sight of some customers piling their plates up and bolting their food was not good. Without being snobbish it was not a restaurant type atmosphere and was more akin to a canteen. Part of our holiday is enjoying local food and the ambience of good restaurants. This we did after the first two days and enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view near the lifts. Double check that this is guaranteed. Get it in writing.

after returning from a 2 week holiday at blue bay it was a lot better than we thought after reading reviews, ,the cleanliness was outstanding from first walking in to the time we left.there was always staff emptying bins in toilets and just general making sure the site was spotless.
food was a bit disappointing by repeating itself a bit of variety would been good but no tummy upset and the kebabs on a lunchtime in the pool restaurant are devine.
the entertainment was good and the entertainment staff always trying to get u to join in in daytime sports, volleyball, waterpolo with a kids one and adults.kids club both morning and afternoon so u get a break.
waterpark is great we got entry 5 days a week for free wi our hol but after talking to other people it was 10£ if not included but once ur in u can come and go as you plz for day.
only snitch we found was sunbeds you need to be up early(we got up at 6 some mornings and main pool full even though says no reserving.but we just went to other pools or beach.the beach does charge to use the sunbeds at 3£ each
it is about 15-20 min to nearest town or u can get bus at end of road to it or Rhodes town which was 2.20£ for adult and 1.10£ child.local bus an experience gets very packed so be warned.lots of boat trips etc to lindos and around the island a lot chaper than wi hotel or rep.
planes!! I must admit I was bit wary of what be like so close to airport but we all loved watching planes coming in and how low some of them were..there wasnt much noise and after couple days u are used to it.greek nite is 18£ for adults kids are free I thoughly enjoyed it so did the kids especaily the fire eating and wlking on glass and nails, children got envolved in the greek dancing.as a single parent yes I only pated 18£ but I don't know how I would feel if few adults as a lot of money!! hope this helps happy holidays

Room Tip: bungalows have own dipping pool looked lush garden view very windy on nite time sea view gorgeous

8 of us have returned from Blue Bay Hotel. The hotel is a lot better than what we thought. 2 nice family rooms with seaview. Sunbeds need to be reserved early bye 6.00am!! The water park is free for 5 days each week if you book with Jet2 Holidays. Gates open 10.00am till 5.00pm so you can get sunbeds there. Soft drinks are free at the waterpark when they work!!. Yes the drinks are in plastic cups they are not too bad, not much choice though. Food is ok the breakfast is the best. You can have your lunch or dinner inside or outside which is good when it is busy. The choice is much the same at both meal times. The kids corner was the same everyday, fishfingers, pasta and custard, The cocktails at the main bar are nice 3euros in happy hour 7.00pm till 8.30pm. Take the bus to Lindos or Rhodes Town which were both very good days out, get your tickets before you get on the bus. Most shops sell them very busy on the buses!!
Yes there are dogs but they do not bother you much. We never say any dog waste any where. The beach is full of stones, once you get into the sea it is sand underfoot. If you want 3 sunbeds the cost is 9Euros for the day!! The sea was very rough for the 2 weeks we were there, not good for small children. A nice breeze all the time every day which was very good!!
Beach towels you can hire 5 Euros each for 2 weeks, clean towels 1euro per towel each time you change. They can go missing if you put them on sunbeds to early around the pool. The staff all work hard, not enough of them in the main dinning room. The Entertainment was ok, kids disco every night a part from the greek night on a Tuesday night. Adult entertainment was not good the staff doing different things every night. We did not go, a money scam 18 euros for food & drink you have paid for already. If you want a cheap holiday which has a clean room, ok food, ok drinks & like planes going over all the time, which did not bother us, this is the place for you.
A holiday is only as good as you make it!!!

Room Tip: Seaview rooms were good 230 and 231 had very good views
