“The best Greek food in Rhodes Old Town hands down!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

We had a really amazing dinner there one night in June. The staf speaks several languages and they would address each guest in their mother tongue. The food is absolutely delicious and according to a Greek who dined with us it is very authentic. I highly recommend this place!

“Fresh delicious food, old world charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

We had two dinners back to back here in June 2013 and enjoyed the experience immensely. Both nights were busy. The service was so hospitable and with what we would describe as old world charm. The amusee bouche was a lovely bit of soup. The starters were shown to us on a large platter from which we could select what we wanted...there was a wide range. We can recommend the octopus carpaccio (sublimely cooked, beautifully dressed), fish row salad (full of flavour but creamy - good luck getting through it), eggplant salad (lovely smoky flavour) and Greek salad. For mains we devoured the sea bass, a seafood platter (containing grilled octopus, fried calamari, shrimps, prawns, seaweed salad), lamb chops and the slightly spicy beef kebab. All beautifully cooked, with 'simple' flavors that really allowed the ingredients to shine. We were too full to order dessert on both nights, so their solution was to bring out some lovely Greek biscuits. We must make a special mention of our waiter, Kristos, whose warmth and passion really shone through.

“Don't understand why it was recommended in Frommers”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Although the service was good, but designed to have the server pick the price of your meal, the sea bass we had was terrible and the whole meal was overpriced

“An interesting dichotomy of views. I come down on the positive side.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

An interesting dichotomy of views. I come down on the positive side but I can understand the negatives too. The place has been going for a long time in one incarnation or another and offers a slightly upmarket dining experience. Waiters a bit obsequious, “very good choice” and all that. A bit old fashioned. Pleasant enough though and I had a good long chat with one of the waiters who had worked there for a long time in a bar and he was a nice chap. Probably not as good a restaurant as they pretend to be but really, they are OK and I have enjoyed my visits. Food is good, prices are a bit high, but the place is quiet and I will visit again. Something of an institution really. Cheery Greek Taverna? Not really. Slightly more up market? A bit. Try it and see what you think. Raise a glass to me if you like it but don’t blame me if you don’t!
