Although we have been visitors to Greece for more than 40 years it was our first time in Rhodes so we had to research carefully and were attracted to the Nathalie by the photographs
and narrative on its website. We were not disappointed. This hotel deserves a much higher rating. It is extremely well run by Lisa, a Scot and her husband, Yannis who are both polyglots and have created a cosmopolitan atmosphere with clientele to match. We met French, Belgians,Italians, Greeks as well as Brits and because we felt like staying around the hotel much more than we would normally we made some good holiday friends. The shaded courtyard was the place to be on a hot afternoon with a chilled beer or G&T(just 3 Euros for a large one) or after dinner with a coffee and metaxa 5* brandy(ies). The atmosphere, the low cost bar and pleasant staff encouraged people to stay.
Breakfasts were excellent with an extensive variety of choices and as much as you wanted to eat. The poolside bar served drinks, hot meals and snacks all day if required and the specials board was worth keeping an eye on for an evening meal in the restaurant.
The rooms are good, cleaned daily and the beds are comfortable.
Within reasonable walking distance there are a large number of tavernas, restaurants and cafes to suit every pocket and taste. Ixia is ideally placed for access to Rhodes town 5km away and there are pleasant countryside walks to the wooded crag just behind the hotel where buzzards and falcons patrol the skies.
Most impressive we will definitely return.
