We stayed here for 7 nights in August and were very disappointed. According to the brochure description (Olympic holidays) this is a 4 Star hotel. In our opinion this hotel is no where near the standard that you would normally associate with 4 stars.
The whole place is somewhat dated and really needs a top to bottom refurbishment.
The rooms are small but the bathrooms really are tiny. The toilet is so close to the door and sink that it is impossible to open the door without complicated contortions. Even my 12 year year old son had this problem.
When we arrived the toilet had not been cleaned, there being evidence of the previous occupier. Cracked tiles and broken hinges add to the general negative impression.
The towels are small and past their best. Some of ours had cigarette burns in them. Also, even if you put them in the bath (the conventional way to indicate that you would like them changed I believe), they would often not be changed.
For some reason the corridors are not lit during the day, thus making everything dark and dingy. On the other hand all the balcony lights are on during the night. We could not switch ours off so dark corridors does not seem to be an energy saving measure.
The food in the restaurant really is poor with little variety, especially at breakfast. the restaurant is dreadful, the tables close together like in a cheap café or back at school and they seem to have a very inefficient dish washer as finding a clean plate was a daily challenge.
The restaurant staff are friendly but questions at reception were invariably met with a shrug of the shoulders.
The bar prices are a joke: a small glass of fanta for the same price as a beer. Ridiculous.
The pool is of a reasonable size but is 1.1m deep at its deepest. Not much shade around the pool either. It closes at 6pm everynight.
Other things to be aware of: the beach is not sandy but is very rocky (buy a pair of sea shoes from one of the shops nearby); a pair of sunbeds and a brolly on the beach are 8 euros per day; the Old Town is 20 minutes (at least) walk from the hotel; being on the west coast there can be quite a strong wind and rough seas.
Overall we found this to be a grim hotel with very little to recommend it.
