“Ixia Rhodes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

My wife and I have been to Rhodes a few times, and also many of the other islands over the years. Rhodes was the first holiday we had on a Greek island way back in the 1980s when we stayed at the Metropolitan Capsis. We understand that this hotel has now closed which is a great shame. Anyway, it is my 70th birthday in September and we thought we would return to Rhodes and do the reminiscent bit. We have today (20 April 2013) booked our stay at the Olympic Palace for September 18-25 and hope we won't be disappointed with our stay. We have booked a sea-view room somewhere at the middle height and hope it will live up to the standards we feel we have paid for. As for Rhodes, out of all the islands we have visited, it is the one that hold many great memories for us. It is also (or once was) one of the easiest of the Greek islands to get around using public transport, which we like to do.

So, if the management read this, please do your best to make our stay a pleasant one. Best regards...Keith Towers - Isle of Wight

Room Tip: A great way to spend a couple of hours is to enjoy a coffee down at Mandraki harbour.

Stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary, and it was an amazing holiday! Had 2 weeks here and loved it. Had a very warm welcome when we arrived and found our room to be perfect and extremely spacious looking over the pool and seafront! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and plentiful. No complaints there! Would definately stay at this hotel again! Thanks for a great holiday.

hello,

we visited a while ago now, but i thought i would make a reveiw as i have finnally opened a trip adviser.

this hotel was not worth the money it cost, i wish we done our homework and not pay so much for it, the food was average, i never expect it to be great in all inclusives but not in a all inclusive that i paid this much for, the cleaning was great either, some of the staff and guest's were very rude, and i was getting quite annoyed at the end of our stay.

i wouldnt say the location is that good either, i wish we looked at hotels in rhodes town now, the beach just outside it was dangeours to get to and not very nice once there.

the beer and wine in the hotel wasnt very nice either. - when we were eating in the main resturant once a waitress took my parnters plate away while he was obviously still eating!

on the up side, we found some lovely resturants near the hotel, we decided to do two day trips, turkey and lindos - lindos was lovely! we would love to go back there one day for the whole week holiday, just so peacefull and like paradise, i cant remember the last time i had been in a sea that is so calm and warm!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to bring your feedback to our attention.

We are very sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay at the Olympic Palace and would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.

As you can appreciate Olympic Palace does not control the final prices sold and therefore cannot make a comment on this issue. We would, however, like to take this opportunity and emphasize that the majority of our guests perceives the hotel to have a very good value for money ratio and feel sadden to read that this was not in line with your personal experience.

We are also concerned to read that cleaning and service levels were not found to be as per your expectations although we would like to assure you that the hotel does not seem to have enough complaints to suggest any issues to this regard.

The hotel’s location offers many benefits including being within walking distance from Ixia’s commercial district and just a few miles down the road from Ialyssos City Center & Rhodes town. We feel sorry should you found getting to the beach to be dangerous however we would like to assure you that this is not the case.

As far as the quality of beverages is concerned, we felt rather surprised by the comments made as the hotel uses high quality local alcoholic beverages in its all inclusive program yet still features a huge variety of branded alcoholic beverages to choose from should a guest wants something beyond what is included in the board.

The incident described in the restaurant, which we are deeply sorry for, appears to be a genuine and unfortunate misunderstanding that is alien to the service levels and standards offered at the Olympic Palace.

Despite the issues raised we hope that you still had some enjoyment out of your stay with us and that you might consider giving us another chance to accommodate you should your future travel plans call for a trip to Rhodes.

Best Regards,
Olympic Palace

We got a free upgraded room with see view :)

the breakfasts and dinners were very good, big variety. they also marked for NON kosher!

the pool was good, many relaxing chairs to use.

there is a bus station at the main road, near the hotel. The location is 10 minutes driver from the city center, where you can take the bus for Lindos - beautiful beach, very good restaurants.

Have been in this hotel for 2nd time and overall it's a good hotel. Located in Ixia, lots of resturants and pubs next to the hotel, 3 minutes walking from the beach, breakfast and dinner are pretty good and after visiting other hotels in rhodes can say that they have lot's of choices for everyone, the food is almost the same every day - but you have planty to choose from. nice and clean pool, staff very friendly, my best recomadation is to take the upgareted rooms with the sea view - it's totaly diffrent exprience from the regular rooms which will get 2-3 stars maximum!

Try to get a balcony at the front of the hotel, you will pay more but it is worth it, the rooms at the back have a much smaller balcony and you face a rock face. We were all inclusive but i think half board would be better but you can get a very good picnic bag, we were there in October and the pool was freezing but it was October what do you expect,

Room Tip: get a room at the front of the hotel as they have a bigger balcony, you pay more but very worth it...
