“Our experience from that hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stayed in the hotel on July for 5 days, with my sister. This a 4* hotel but it doesn't feel like one.
Even though the lobby loosk fine, the rooms are at very low level. The showers are SO small! My hight is 162 cm and it was so uncomfortable! the TV is very old, no choise of channels.
The food was a disaster! We had breakfast and dinner included but we ate outside 3 meals a day...The SPA is very small, we didn't had treatments, but looks unprofessional. There is one terapist, and she does the massage, nails, facials. That mean that as two sisters we couldn't have treatments at the same time. Maybe from some that won't be a problem, but for us it was. The GYM is also VERT SMALL. BUT there is a big benefit- the hotel placed right on the beach. The location was actually perfect, we could go anywhere without using bus or texi. The staff were also nice, the reseption clerck Panos did his job very nicely and was polite.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a view on the beach. It's amazing to wake up like this in the morning, and loo...

I just want to start off by saying that this hotel was by far the worst hotel we have ever visited. Please bear in mind we are not fussy people and after reading so many negative reviews we visited blue sky with an open mind.

My family and I had booked 4 half board, city view rooms at this hotel. When we first arrived we did not get any help with our luggage and were not even shown to our rooms, we were simply just given our room keys and had the basics explained. For a hotel which is rated 4* it wasn't really a 4* welcoming.

The rooms in my opinion were very poor, the furniture is dated and the mattresses were dirty, the fridge in the room had started to rot the wooden cabinet, also as there are only 2 plug sockets in the room one for the TV and one for the fridge it is very inconvenient to use your own electrical appliances. The view from the room looked out to what can only be described as BAGHDAD.

The internet Wi-Fi was not free and is 2 euros for 1 hour, please note that although we had purchased a total of 20 hours, we had to use this in reception as there was no service in any of the 4 rooms my family had booked.

The bathroom was extremely small there was barely any space to move, every time we took a shower we flooded out the whole bathroom, which is also a safety hazard as the floors were tiled and can get really slippery!

The food served at the hotel was poor, not that much choice if you don’t eat pork, the restaurant and bar staff were beyond arrogant and borderline racist they barley greeted let alone spoke to us even though we saw them twice a day for 7 days.

The pool is VERY cold even when the suns out, I don’t think the pool gets cleaned at all -as on more than one occasion there were plastic bags and other rubbish that had blown in overnight which my sister ended up removing.

The pool bar woman was very stuck up did not once smile or even acknowledge us. As we don’t drink alcohol we did not purchase any drinks, although when we were checking out of the hotel we had a €27 bill outstanding - someone had obviously purchased drinks and had given one of our room numbers!

The only pleasant part of our stay was the service provided by the reception staff, they really did help us out a lot... Michael is exceptional and is getting wasted in that dump... He has great customer service and was literally the only person who actually made us feel welcome and listened to our concerns.

We were meant to get feedback forms on the last day which conveniently for them was not given to us. I really don’t like giving hotels bad reviews but I want to give others an honest review so they know what to expect and don’t feel unsatisfied like we do.

All in all we felt very unwelcome by both staff and even other European guests at this hotel.
If you are from the UK and are thinking about booking this hotel I would definitely suggest looking elsewhere and would not recommend this hotel at all.

Room Tip: Book a room elsewhere!

We stayed at this hotel from 7/9/2014 to 17/9/2014. We can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The staff were all very kind and helpful, making our stay enjoyable. A special mention to Alexsandra who ran the pool bar, Giannis the main bar and also the man who managed the night reception desk.
Our room was on the 5th floor, with great views. The lifts could be very busy at times. The room it's self was very nice, a decent size wardrobe, plenty of drawer space and decent size bathroom. The only downfall was the shower, although functional it was not what we are used to.
The new town was very nice plenty of cafes and restaurants. The old town was a 15 minute walk away and well worth a visit.
We went on 3 organised trips and thoroughly enjoyed each one.
We went on the Rough Rhodes Safari where we went up into the mountains and were able to view the island from many different points. George was our driver and guide for the day and very knowledgeable. We would recommend this trip. We also went on a half day trip to Lindos a very pretty village. Then we went on the round the island tour which was very enjoyable.

Room Tip: High floor with sea view

Myself and a friend have just come back from Rhodes after spending a week at the hotel. We each had single rooms on the 5th floor, only downside was that we did not have a balcony, however at this time of year, the sun didn't shine on the front of the hotel til 11:30am onwards it wasn't a problem and the beach front - Windy Beach is aptly named so you would be windswept in the evening sitting on the balcony! It's a 15min walk to one of the Old Town gates, 2 mins walk to the start of "Bar Street" if that's your scene, 10/15 min walk to the Aquarium. Plenty of restaurants round about.

We were bed and breakfast at the hotel, no complaints re the breakfast, all you can eat. We didn't have an evening meal there so can't comment how that was. Small bar in the hotel reception area, very nice and polite barman - Yiannis, small poolside bar for during the day with friendly barmaid.

Reception staff all nice and friendly. Towels changed daily in the rooms and rooms cleaned. The rooms all had a mini bar as well, with a small amount of room to pop your own water in.

Quite a large pool for use and although there are signs up about not "booking" sunbeds, some people obviously did, but didn't cause me any issues. Pool water absolutely freezing though even when the sun had been on it all day.

Small shop attached to the hotel to buy water, juice, snacks etc.

Would certainly recommend this hotel and go back again if the option arose to travel to Rhodes again.

Room Tip: I was in room 511 and my friend 532 (opposite ends of the same floor) both with views to the rear an...

Spent 2 weeks in this hotel at the end of August 2014. I was a little concerned prior to arrival due to some negative reviewer comments, however I have nothing I feel I can really complain about.
We had a sea view which was nice, and the room was clean. Maid service was good with fresh bed linen and towels changed regularly.
Breakfast was good, plenty to eat (as much as you wanted), and a wide variety of food to suit everyone. Also a good poolside snack bar.
Reception staff were polite and helpful. The only slight problem was the WiFi, it costs extra, (about 1 euro a day) and sometimes it was difficult to connect, but I don't go on holiday to spend my time on a computer.
Beds - a little too firm for me, but I suppose they will suit some people.
All in all, yes I would stay there again.

Room Tip: All I can say is sea views are preferable.

Just returned from a weeks stay at Blue Sky Beach Hotel Rhodes town, was a little disturbed by other peoples perception of this hotel. However myself and 2 other ladies have had a great stay here, only downside was the view from the back of this hotel overlooking other apartments, we should have booked a sea view room, tried to change but no rooms available, however when you consider that you are only in the room to get ready at teatime we soon got used to the view. The staff on reception Michel Panos and a lady cant remember her name were all very nice, as was the bar and dining room staff. This is definitely the place to stay in Rhodes, very near the old town which is really nice. If going to the beach walk straight along promenade right to the Aquarium and go to the beach there its much better and not as windy. Plenty of choice for food to eat as well very nice.

Room Tip: book a seaview room

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Blue Sky Hotel, I know some of the reviews have not been so kind but we found the hotel to be nothing but pleasant. When we arrived we were given a free upgrade to a sea view room (I had emailed them to ask if one was available in advance). The guy on reception was nothing but polite and helpful and greeted us with a smile and a cheery " hi girls, how was your night" every time we returned, as was all the staff at this hotel, I think it unfair that some of the reviews say "everyone" was horrid and unhelpful as we did not find this to be the case, the staff were always friendly and very helpful. The rooms were of a good size with 2 wardrobes and quite a good size bathroom and lovely balcony. The pool area was very nice and as long as we did not lig in bed we never had a problem getting a sun bed. The hotel is in a very good location (all be it on the windy side of the island), don't let this put you off as once your off the main road, the wind does drops to a gentle breeze that you will be greatfull for in the summer months as it is very hot. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the old town which is beautiful and full of restaurants, bars, ice-cream parlours and lots and lots of shops, you can spend hours walking through the cobbled streets of the castle walls, the atmosphere has a real buzz feel to it. All in all we had a great stay at the Blue Sky Beach and would not hesitate to return in the future, if you want a nice hotel in a great location, close to the beach, bars and restaurants then this is hotel is a great choice.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 512 and had a lovely sea view
