“Hell Hole - Avoid like the plague !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

Just returned from two weeks holiday in Rhodes. We had booked into this hotel for the duration of our holiday with COSMOS after careful consideration of their description. The minute we walked into the room, we wanted to leave.
We were FORCED to stay for three nights before insisting on a move to another hotel at considerable extra cost, having waited this length of time for the rep to relocate us. During these three nights we managed around 1.5 hours sleep between 10pm and 8am.

Be warned that if you want any sleep AT ALL...this is NOT the hotel to stay in (although it is described as 'relaxing and comfortable' on the COSMOS website. It is just 30 yards from a Strip Joint and a night club that pumps out music at an insane volume until at least 4am in the morning. Although described as three star accomodation, the quality of the facilities is little more than a youth hostel, and nothing like the 'studio apartment' quality that was described, with a mould covered 'kitchen' area and rusting cooker hobs. This is NOT a hotel for 'couples' or 'families'. It IS a hotel for 18 to 25 year olds who wish to party and drink until dawn. The hotel is surrounded by high rise hotels/apartments on three sides and privacy is non existent as you are looking into other peoples rooms and they into yours.

Air conditioning and safe deposit boxes are charged as EXTRAS, at ridiculous extra cost to your holiday.

This is our worst ever hotel experience in 35 years of international travel.
Avoid this hotel AT ALL COSTS.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel !!

I bet that this hotel was some kind of prison in the past. The rooms, the elevator, the lounge .... Everything is so old !
The staff are not very friendly and not helpful at all. The breakfast selection is not that good either

A lovely town, the hotel was good. We stayed for 2 weeks the first room at the rear of the hotel. Too noisy and the hotel opposite was literally a dozen steps away overlooking us on the 2 nd floor. Moved to 4th floor front of hotel a fantastic room (415) would recommend this room. The receptionist was extremeley helpful and friendly. She was the older of the 2 receptionists. No pool but u could use next doors we used the many beaches but found the harbour beaches best. Food at Danish corner on seafront opposite hotel fantastic Greek buffet 9euro! And we even got a free cocktail......lovely people. Very hot and very beautiful!

Room Tip: 415 not any rooms on 2nd floor at rear. All young people and poor facilities!

My partner & I have just come back from a x2 week stay at the Alexia Hotel in Rhodes 28/6-12/7. This is an honest review of how we found it:
1) Basic rooms yet very clean and comfortable.
2) Reception staff helpful, friendly and pleasant.
3) Beautiful view of the sea & great location for the beach, new town & old town.
4) Extreamley noisy at night time, hotel is situated opposite Bar Street with a club that bangs out extreamley loud music till 06:00. Be prepared to not get any sleep whilst you are there. We are a young couple in our 30's & by no means party poopers yet it really did ruin most of the holiday as we were shattered single everyday. When I mean no sleep I mean no sleep, the police were called a few times but nothing happened. People also screaming & shouting throughout the night. However if you can put up with the noise every night then it is a fantastic base for the price. Would have returned if not for the noise.

Room Tip: 416 fantastic view yet very very noisy at night time due to being over road from bar street.

The Alexia is a modern hotel in the noisy tourist area of the new town. This I knew. Was dropped off by transfer and had a 50 metre walk on bad pavements to reach it. Reception is light and cool. My room was not altogether clean. I don't think they issue their staff with brooms or mops. Nothing matched in decor. The bathroom was a mismatch of tiles, nothing finished properly, I would not unpack my suitcase as drawers/ wardrobe didn't look clean. My balcony was right in front of other apartments, I could just see the sea if I looked past the building in either direction. Wifi is in lobby, safety deposit boxes one floor down. The breakfast was of a good quality, catering to all tastes. There were signs saying not to remove food as contravenes hygiene regulations. To me it is to stop people loading up their bags so as not too buy anything on their day out. Staff.... some friendly some not. Would I stay again.... if I was in Rhodes for a couple of days maybe but in no hurry to return to Rhodes.

This is the worst hotel I have ever visited. I am Greek and I thought that all these bad comments might not be true. Unfortunately I went there last week and i found out that everything was true. I had an electric explosion first thing in the morning and I barely survived from an electric shock. Everything went black at 6.00 o clock in the morning and I forgot to say that there was not any hot water in my room. The breakfast was awful and the staff unwilling. I stayed there 2 nights in May 2012 and I will never forget this nightmare. Please do not go there. It is dangerous apart from dirty.

It's a basic, but nice hotel, very handy for the beach and many good restaurants. Also very close to the bar area, but no noise can be heard when you close the patio door.

Old fashioned portable tv with bad reception of even the Greek channels. If you want to watch anything, take a laptop or portable tv/dvd player.

Free Wi-fi only works in the hotel bar/reception area, not in the rooms. Receptionist will give you the key code.

In our room, there was a tiny double sink and a fridge, plus a two-ring hob… right outside the bathroom. Odd, but you get used to it. Kettle and toastie maker also provided.

Staff speak good English, which is always a bonus and they are helpful and cheery.

This is a good hotel for anyone, young or old. However, wheelchair access to anywhere but ground floor is impossible, due to tiny lifts having a pull open door. They do have rooms on the ground floor, though, and the resturant and bar are there. There's a ramp at the front by the steps, but this is quite typically very steep. I'm glad I didn't have to use it.

Launderette across the street. Costs 7 euros per load, but they do it for you and it's all fresh and dry by the end of the day. Owner speaks excellent English and is very nice.

Warning: Shops adjacent are very expensive tourist shops. There is a Carrefour supermarket just 2.9km (1.8 miles) away from the hotel at: Nisidas Ro 2-16, Rodos 85100, very close to the Panorama Apartments. Their prices are more like Asda than Harrods.

Big Marks & Spencer in the middle of town. Never been in, but I’m told it’s just like home.

Room Tip: Go for the "beach view" for views of the setting sun (third floor upwards) and "town...
