“Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

I stayed here 18-25 April and travelled with my Dad. On arrival we were given 2 lovely spacious rooms with a sea view. Sea view rooms are a must as the views are superb. The whole Hotel is spotlessly clean. The main restaurant can become a little repetitive but the Italian and Chinese options are of outstanding quality! The only downside to the Mitsis Grand is the one and only all inclusive bar which wasn't too busy this time of year but I would imagine gets very busy in peak season. All credit to Panos, Effi and Co who kept the queue's at bay with their fast efficient service!
Very friendly staff, fabulous location, great hotel, value for money!

The staff go out of their way to be helpful, always cheery.THe hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious, shower fast and furoius, hot water all the time, towels changed everyday. The dining room is well laid out, easy access to the buffet, the food is plentiful and varied. (we both came back overweight). The entertainment is lacking (none for children). A guy in the evening plays a casio type keyboard of old tunes. The bar is more like a cafe with a terrace area. The pools are great to sit around & get a tan.The hotel is opposite a shingle beach ( not so nice ) rocks in the water make it difficult to get in. (go to faliraki for a great beach). LIndos is beautiful but too hot. Hotel just a walk away from old town. lots of shops nearby, also a street full of nightlife around the corner. Pint of beer 5 euro, international shorts between 5 & 7.50 euros. Very expensive.

Arrived 1st April, the day the hotel opened for the season, which made the level of service from the friendly staff all the more impressive.
The public areas and bedrooms had all been repainted, a new terrace and outdoor furniture for the all - inclusive bar, and new sunshades around the pool all gave the place a feel -good factor.
Given the state of the Greek economy it's no surprise the rooms have not been modernized, but they were very clean (housekeeping was great), and the marble bathrooms quite luxurious.
We opted for rooms in the rear wing, which missed the amazing sea view, but were more spacious, and less breezy at this time of the year. The head receptionist Maria was keen to ensure you were happy with your room. The owners were staying in the hotel for the first few days, and the Manager was walking the property on a regular basis.
The quality of the buffet was a real surprise - fantastic salads, grill stations, and fresh pancakes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very good, with made to order omelettes in the morning. The Italian was great, and the Chinese had potential, the food was good, but we were there on the first night and they hadn't worked out the service.
Drinks were fine for all-inclusive - the beer, white wine and Pina Colados were all good, less so the red wine. It helped you could order 2 for each person at one time. We had a night cap in the pay bar some nights, which was comfortable and served good port and cocktails.
The location is great,on the promenade with brilliant views across the sea, and only 10 minutes walk to both the old town and new town.
We enjoyed Rhodes, I hired a car for 3 days from the guy in the lobby at a good rate, and explored the Island. We also took a ferry to Symi, which was very picturesque.
I still can't get over what good value this was for what we paid & I highly recommend going All - Inclusive. The best deals were on the Mitsis Hotels own web site - worth comparing against any agents as you can get a lo-cost flight to Rhodes & the taxi to the hotel is not expensive.

I stayed here with family members and we received good Hospitality and services.I did ask for Twin beds but it seems the Twin Beds looked more like a double bed with separate mattresses which was a bit of a challenge at times. The Hotel is located in an accessible place in Rhodes Town. I loved the Food in the Restaurant and the warm service. The Snacks and Drinks in the Bar were good (the Bar men were friendly and served me good Cocktails) and the facilities in the Hotel were good as well.It is best to hire a Car if you want to venture around Rhodes or take a trip on a Tour Bus.I tripped over a heart shaped Rock opposite the Hotel (see pic).I hope to come back to Rhodes someday :-))

Well after reading previous reviews i have to say The Mitsis Grand is a lovely hotel Nice position on the sea front Lovely and clean inside and out Hotel staff very friendly and close enough to get back and forth to the Old town which is beautiful. Only downside we had a room at the back of the hotel and the view . . . well the view was just of other high rise hotels Not good However overall a very pleasant experience

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for Sea view!!!

just returned from the mitsis grand and having read some of the reviews we were dready the holiday,
travelled with my father and husband, my father had a lovely room at the front of the hotel overlooking the pool and beach, we had the worst view in all the hotel i think, a brick wall out of all the hotel theres probably 3 or 4 rooms with this view, they would have moved us but couldnt be bothered as we were only there a week and got an absolute bargain and not in the room that much at least it was nice and quite, The rooms are spacious and clean think ours had just been redecorated furniture a bit dated but have seen a lot worse and it wasnt that bad.
The food was very good, ate in the chinese one night but couldnt finish it there was so much, didnt have time to try the italian but everyone said it was very good.
The pools were freezing but it was only april so wasnt going in anyway
The all inclusive bar is small and got very full but there is plenty of seating outside, the reception area is massive so they could move things about to make more room, not much entertainment a bloke did alternate nights in the bars but that was all, unsure if it gets any better in the main season.
Location was good, just a 10 min walk into the main town
Wi-fi is free in the lobby of the hotel which they dont tell you, some people were buying cards.
Overall really enjoyed the holiday, service was very good ,maybe because it was the first week of the season but would certainly return

On arriving we were told we were not booked in. Then we were. Then we were told we would have to stay at another hotel. We had chosen this hotel as it was situated near friends living in Rhodes. They then found us two rooms. We had to wait two hours for them.
The rooms were very pleasant, especially the views of the airconditioning outlets.
The location was very good for us and it allowed us access to all the local sites etc.
For late night entertainment the hotel provided a group of Russians who loved to sing, it was a pity that we had to wait until 3-30 am for them to start. Despite calls to reception each of the six nights we were there nobody was interested in stopping them, or sign them to sing in a club.
Overall the reception staff were arrogant and unhelpful.
The bar staff were however exceptionally good.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel
