very friendly, helpful staff. Fabulous location, choice of two beaches and prevailing winds withn yards. Very well run kitchen. Some of the rooms facing interanlly not so good, a bit claustrophobic, so check in advance.

Room Tip: avoid ones looking over pool, less light and less privacy

We liked Ibiscus Hotel where we stayed this summer vacation, because the room was big, bathroom good, services too, breakfast very good. All rooms ( or almost all) have sea view, depend if is Aegean Sea or Mediterranean, and the beach is right in the front or in the back of hotel: in the front - for Mediterranean Sea, which is very crowded but the waves are moderate. In the back - for Aegean Sea which is with less people, but very windy and with very big waves. Both of them are with sun umbrellas and sun beds for fee of course, but both beaches are with pebbles. I loved the location because at 150 meters is the the northernmost of the Rhodes Island, and we can walk or swim from Aegean in Mediterranean sea, and you feel the winds in your face and the water which turns from warmer to colder in a few steps, there where the seas meet.
For the Old Town you get 15 minutes walk, for the Harbor just 10 minutes. If you go for a visit in Old Town , you'll want to do it every day/evening.
Rhodes Acropolis is wonderful, but not enough known, and not so well signaled. It was a good choice to visit it and there is an ancient stadium.
I recomand this hotel for a nice vacation.

Staying at the Ibiscus is a safe choice. You get good service, very good breakfast compared to quite a few really sad ones in other hotels close by...The rooms are not exactly modern, but they are clean and offer you the basics of what you need. The beds are as always built to last, the springs in the mattresses are kind of stiff!
The location is perfect for beachlife, and central for going out in town. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the bar has free internet.... Great! ; )
The breakfast is pretty good too!
Bringing the family for next year's holidays is absolutely a possibility!

Room Tip: Ask for seaview!

We asked for a quiet room high up and got a room on the 5th floor facing the pool and the ocean. Great! If it would have been possible for us, we would have booked a room with sea-view for even a better view.

Drawbacks with this hotel is that: the rooms are outdated, the beds are hard, the pool area is small and with little sun.
But that's the only drawbacks. Almost all the staff is really friendly and helpful, the location is great since it's so close to the beach, great restaurants and even a nice walk away to the old town. the bar is nice and it's great to sit at the pool area or outside at the patio in the evening. We had half-board and it was well worth the money. Good breakfast and dinner.
So if we go back to Rhodes, we could definitely think of booking this hotel again.

Room Tip: High up and with a seaview if possible.

I have stayed twice at this hotel and chose it for our second visit because the location is excellent and because we had been advised it had recently been refurbished.

There had been no refurbishment sadly, which mean that the rooms remained very dated and tired. I can't fault the cleanliness but the paint in our room was flaking from the woodwork, the TV looked like it had been dropped repeatedly from a great height, and the once white towels are now distinctly greying. The aging air conditioning system and the hard beds are not condusive to a comfortable night's sleep. The breakfast buffet is pretty average too. On a positive note, the views from the beach-facing rooms are superb.

The bar/restaurant staff are very courteous, however the reception staff can be a little lackluster. The public areas of the hotel are very pleasant and we spent a lot of time down in the outdoor bar area watching the world go by and enjoying the view of the sea and the Turkish coastline.

You can walk easily to some smashing local restaurants and bars from the hotel, and there are tons of convenience stores and souvenir shops nearby too. The Old Town is easily reachable with a very enjoyable walk from the hotel, but if you wanted to get a taxi back, it is a well-known hotel and your driver will get you there very quickly and cheaply.

I can't help feeling that the management use the hotel's superb location as an excuse to be lazy in other aspects.

In addition to being at a perfect location for walking along the beach and only 15 minutes stroll from the walled old town, the hotel is clean and efficiently run. Room sizes vary but each have their own advantages and drawbacks. We had specifically requested twin beds and found ourselves with a double bed. There was only one chair in the room and nowhere to really put the suitcases. The room was newly decorated and all of the changes of towels and bed linen were of the best quality. The sea view rooms have french doors to their balcony and we learnt that these can rattle on a windy night. The pool view rooms however have sliding patio type doors that overcome this potential irritation. Breakfast is a buffet style with a wide range of options available. Freshly cooked omlettes and crepes are made to guests requests, a service I used most mornings during our stay.
Evening meals are a cheap and very good value buffet which half board guests can enjoy. For us the food was good the rooms were well cleaned every day, the reception was helpful. The bar staff and restaurant staff are attentive and obliging.
The two lifts are very small and only take four people or two people and two cases comfortably, but there was always a lift available throughout our stay even though the hotel was full.
Bar prices are cheaper than the neighbouring tavernas and you can sit inside or outside looking towards the sea in comfort. In spite of the room lottery I would recommend the Ibiscus and will certainly go back there on any return visit to Rhodes.

Room Tip: By paying extra for a sea view you also get the in room safe as part of the cost. The use of the saf...

My wife and I have just returned from another fantastic holiday in the Ibiscus Hotel in Rhodes Town. As we have stayed at this Hotel before we new the area we were able to start to enjoy the holiday straight away and not have the problem finding our feet. One thing that other holiday makers must know if they should choose a holiday in Rhodes is to find a Hotel or Resort that is not on the West Coast as we experienced some very strong westerly winds that I am sure would cause holiday makers problems. One place that is a must to visit is the Old Town as it is very atmospheric with many areas of extreme commercialisum but also many areas where you can quite easily get lost in the back streets that take you back in time. The only down side was that we booked again with Thomson Holidays and found in the past there was always a rep available to talk to and get tips from and also book trips, but this year for some reason they stopped sending a rep from July. It did not mean it spoilt our holiday but as we were always had the security of a rep being on hand in the past we felt a little isolated. One thing that was very noticeable from previous holidays was the very high number of Russians that are now holidaying in Rhodes seems they have taken over from the Germans for numbers and arrogance

Room Tip: Book a room with a Sea View as the outlook from the other Rooms are very dull.
