We stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel itself has been recently remodeled, so everything was new and worked (at least to our knowledge). The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, although there was no concierge.

The room we got was awesome! I'm pretty sure it was a suite and it was very large and recently redone. The balcony had a good view of the beach and you could see the cruise ships. The air conditioning also worked very well, which was essential during the summer months.

Breakfast was okay--nothing spectacular. As was dinner. It was also only filled with Europeans, so it was a little weird being the only Americans in the entire place!

The one potential drawback is its location. While conveniently located by the beach (just across the street), it was a good 15-20 minute walk to the city walls, where all of the historical sites were located. For us, the location was less desirable. So, if you want to be closer to the historical town, maybe choose one closer.

Other than its distance, it was a good hotel.

if you like cold food, small balconies, tepid coffee and surly receptionists youve come to the right place. I, like a number of reviewers used the hotel simply as a base.situated where it is,it is ideal for both old and new towns, the beach is most convenient and there are numerous cafes and restaraunts.I would also recommend a trip down bar street to the red lion. This review should be about the Hotel not about the attractions of Rhodes and sadly I must rate this Hotel as nothing more than average.

Thank you Ibiscus for double booking my boyfriend and I - 3 days before we were due to stay with you.

Thank you First Choice for not finding out sooner.

Thank you to you both for the stress I had to go through to re book my holiday.

Be warned future holiday makers - this does happen so make sure you check.

Make sure you sit down outside the Hotel in the late afternoon/evening and just enjoy! Helpful staff, great breakfast buffet and the beach across the street.
I think all their maintenance budget must have been spent on the front terrace, definitely not on our room. It was quite "worn out", and smelled horrible from sigarettes - no such thing as non-smoking room!

“Great hotel”

Ibiscus Hotel

We decided to stay at the Ibiscus Hotel, Rhodes, partly after seeing the positive comments left by others on this site when we were looking for a hotel.
The Ibiscus is a top-notch, 3-star hotel with good sized rooms, all with balconies (sadly we couldn't get a sea view as they were all booked up). It has a good self-service restaurant with an excellent selection of food - the waiting staff in particular are efficient, courteous, and always welcoming. They made a great fuss of the few children who stayed. The hotel bar is, I think, the nicest of all the hotel bars (even the more expensive hotels) as it's open-air in the front of the building and overlooks the beach. Again - staff are very nice. There is a road between the hotel and the beach which does get a bit busy at times, but not too difficult to cross and not too noisy/intrusive.
The only downside is the small swimming pool - more of a plunge pool really - but then again the area around it is quiet and contained - apart from birdsong - and lovely to lie around on the sunbeds if you need to chill out.
The hotel is very well placed for Rhodes town (10 minutes' walk) and the harbour (5 minutes' walk). Despite its proximity to town the hotel is peaceful and quiet and coolly air-conditioned, and we really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

    • Liked — spacious room, very clean and efficient air conditioning
    • Disliked — no view from our balcony but all sea views already booked
