Very beautiful place close to the city center, a must see when you are in Rhodes. A place to take many memorable photographs to remember your trip to Greece.

“An outstanding tourist site!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

We stayed in Rhodes old town, so this site was almost unavoidable. But don't miss it if you are in Rhodes, especially if you are a history buff. This is very unique piece of Greek mediaeval history.

“Ask if the exhibits are open”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

The palace is a great place to start your historical tour of the old town. The physical building as well as the exhibits are a treasure. When you buy your ticket, make sure to ask what exhibits are open. We didn't ask and were surprised to find everything closed! They did validate our ticket to use the next day when the exhibits would be open.

“Very Interesting to Visit - Bring a Guide”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

In the old town, near the harbor. The Palace of the Grand Masters was originally built in the 7th century to act as a fortress. Around the 14th century, the Knights of St. John began to repair it to make it a residence of the Grand Master. Most of it was eventually restored or rebuilt in the 1930's by Mussolini during a period of Italian rule. There are lots of things in each room, all from different time periods. Lots of mosaic tiled floors, which were interesting. After you go through the palace, walk down the Street of the Knights and back through the old town. This was like a step back in time. Cool visit!

“Very average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

Only one floor is opened to the public (I guess it is due to winter time). If you have been to the Italian palaces, this is very average. However, the mosaics are interesting. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
