“Not good idea to go end of season”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We stayed in the Elite Suites, just along from the main hotel. Most suites had a plunge pool. The rooms were lovely. They were situated high in a mountain and the view was great. We had complimentary wine on arrival and picky bits to eat, very nice. We ate in the a la carte restaurant which was for Elite Suite guests. The staff and service was excellent. The menu was very good and the food was cooked exceptionaly well.Unfortunatly we was unaware of the main hotel closing down last weekend and the suites this weekend. The pool bar also closed. The only bar which was open was in the main building from 6pm to 1am. Unfortunately because the hotel season finishes this weekend there wasnt many holiday makers so the atmosphere was non existant. Probably very different in main season. Would recommend this hotel but check when the season finishes and steer clear of then.

Room Tip: All suites have really good views and decor lovely. Very large rooms.

Dear Friend,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay at the Elite Suites. We are extremely pleased to read you have enjoyed your room and all the exclusives services our Elite Suite guests receive.

Regarding your comments for the closing of the Amathus Hotel, please note that it is a separate hotel within the same area. Most of our Elite Suites guests prefer to use the facilities of the Elite Suites because of the exclusivity they offer.

I hope you will choose to stay again with us during high season in order to experience a completely different atmosphere. I look forward to welcoming you back to our Elite Suites in the near future.

The Elite Suites at Amathus Beach are exactly that. The staff are ever attentive, the spa is marvelous the suites themselves a pleasure to call home for 10 days. The A la Carte menu is good and the service charming. This is a great hotel for an end of season chill, I would highly recommend the elite suites at this hotel. Whilst I make a point of not going to the same resort twice and so therefore am highly unlikely to come again, I would certainly visit the sister hotels in Limassol or Pathos but beware, Amathus Hotels Division, Rhodes has set the bar at a very high level, to match this experience will take some doing.

Room Tip: The garden Elite Suite appartments suffer a bit from road noise. The first floor elite suites have...

We stayed at the Elite Suites at the Amathus Beach Hotel, it was an amazing experience.
The staff were very friendly, the food was excellent, we ate in the a la carte restaurent, the hotel grounds were clean and tidy, there are many swimming pools you could chose from. Had a complentary manicure and pedicure in the spa which was lovely. Plenty of sun beds, infact there was nothing I would have changed or they could have done better, had a great chill out week, would recommend it to anyone, would definately go back again or perhaps try there sister hotels in Cyprus.

Room Tip: We had an Elite Suite, I think they are all great, we had one without a plung pool, which was not a...

Amazing hotel, very beautiful and new. the staff were amazing, especially the receptionist named Elena - she's one of the best !
we had our honeymoon in this hotel in mid october (15-21/10/2012) in a suite on the second floor right infront of the sea and with a private pool in the room.
the rooms are AMAZING and very luxurious, the hotel is spoiling it's guests every day with lots of cool stuff for free and it was really nice and yummi :)
the staff are really nice and helpful.
there are several pools in the hotel - we went only to the suites pool because it was quieter than the other ones but there were all nice and clean.

the location of the hotel is really comfortable. the sea is 1 minute walk from the hotel and the city of Rhodes (the old one and the new one) is only 5-7 mintes drive by taxi = which is exactly 8 Euros for one way.

the spa is amazing ! very clean and beautiful, there is a Hammam, Jacuzzi, Sauna and etc.
we took two kinds of massages in the spa - Swedish Massage and Indian head Massage. they were both nice, not more than that. the good thing is that it was really cheap for a spa massage.

overall, we realllllly enjoyed the place and would definitely go back there if we'll go back to Rhodes. it was a really good experience.

Room Tip: i would really recommend taking the suites with the private pool, they are much bigger, nicer and de...

Had our second visit to Elite Suites in September. Last year completely exceeded expectations and this year was just as wonderful. Everything about the elite suites experience makes us feel that we would be very disappointed now if we went anywhere else. Superb facilities such as huge room with massive very comfortable bed, fabulous bathroom with twin basins and to die for rain shower (also bath with shower as well). Everywhere is kept very clean and all staff without exception are efficient, welcoming and cheerful. Check in is done sitting in reception drinking champagne, and someone takes you to your room. No handling of luggage at all, it is brought to the room and collected again on departure to pick up point. Fresh water and treats in your room every day, and little snacks and soft drinks and all sorts of treats in Reception during the day that you can help yourself to. The black pool is exclusive to Elite Suites guests and is a pleasant place to spend time. Also the Elite Suites have a private place on the grass by the private beach with the most comfortable sun beds we have ever had, and a lovely pool boy and girl to fetch anything you need from the pool bar. The breakfast options are very varied and all the food is superb. The a la carte Varkarola restaurant for the evenings is just amazing. We stayed for 2 weeks both years and there are so many wonderful options to choose from that we had no trouble finding things we wanted at every meal. The cooking and presentation is out ot this world. AND, after all that I have written so far, the staff are a highlight of any visit to Elite Suites. The managers, Leonidas and Stefanos, have a great team of staff working with them. They are well trained and supported by Leon and Stefan and together they all make the dining experience exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble, they just want to do everything they can to help you enjoy your holiday. When we arrived this year we had such a wonderful welcome from the staff who were there when we went in September last year. Leonidas and Stefanos gave us an amazing welcome, and then we were so pleased to see our favourite staff from last year, who all remembered us and were so pleased to see us, namely Liena, Makis, Emi, Moushcoula and Elena, and the lovely Signe who was new this year. Thank you all for a perfect holiday and we hope to see you again next year.

This hotel is great for a relaxing holiday. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and very comfortable. Our room was high up and had lovely views. The food was excellent and served with efficiency and charm. The staff here are excellent and always helpful.
The pool in the suites is available to suites and spa guests and when quiet is an oasis of peace and quiet. However when there are quite a few children around it can be noisy. We have to travel in school holidays and wanted a quiet time, the children weren't,t badly behaved just normal kids having fun. This makes me think the hotel needs to give thought to which market it is aiming at - families or couples wanting peace and quiet. It may not be an issue of course out of school holiday times. The waiting staff servicing the pool were delightful young people and they regularly served drinks and food.
Ixia is part of ribbon development extending down the coast, this is fine if you are happy with a very touristy area.
I had several wonderful treatments in the spa, again the staff there were great. They use fantastic products and the atmosphere is lovely.

Room Tip: Rooms near the road are subject to noise, those higher up have lovely views.

We have just returned from a week at the Elite Suites at Amathus and it was truly superb. Quality service for guests is an obsession for the management of this hotel - there is no other way to create such an experience.

Great location! 10 minutes by taxi from the airport and not much longer by bus. 10 minutes by bus to Rhodes town from right outside the hotel with a bus every 15 minutes.

The main Amathus Hotel is a mature hotel set in beautiful gardens amongst huge mature trees. It’s built into the mountain side so the 11th floor is also at ground level. The restaurant and bar have fantastic panoramic views over the sea with Turkey in the distance on a clear day. It has everything: Spa, multiple swimming pools in different areas, well equipped gymnasium, sauna, hair salon, a tranquil garden with pool in the spa for elite suite guests only, a la carte restaurant, buffet restaurant, pool side bars and restaurants, beach bar service. It even has some little shops with reasonably priced daily newspapers, confectionery and gifts. The hotel car hire was reasonably priced too, the car was good and the service from the desk was brilliant.

Elite Suites part is a more recent annex where they have taken standards to a league above. The room was huge (2-3 times the size of a normal room) The super king sized bed in our room was so incredibly comfortable. Huge shower room, huge bath, double bathroom, mood lighting, flat screen TV, free wifi - all beautifully designed and spotlessly clean everywhere.

The service from staff was very special. It’s as good as the top hotels in the world but different on account of the genuine friendliness from everyone. They couldn’t do enough for us – brilliant! Even the car hire man was so helpful in explaining the things to see off the beaten track.

We were showered with complementary stuff: free tea, coffee, soft drinks, canapés and cakes all day in the foyer. Free newspapers to read. Free bottled water every day in our room, free sparkling wine, free gifts to take home even. We were offered a free manicure and pedicure; when my wife explained that she had one before the holiday they suggested a free massage instead. We got even more when they found out it was our wedding anniversary.

The food in the a la carte restaurant was exceptional; top quality with good portion size. I wouldn’t be able to eat this sort of food all the time though – it’s just too rich and luxurious; I put on half a stone in a week! The pianist and singers were really talented and there were dancing girls one night (I missed). The rooftop restaurant for lunch and the pool bars were also really good too; lavish sandwiches on crusty bread, stupendous salads and really nice chips too.

If you like your meat cooked well done you have to be direct. After a couple of meals we settled on “very very well done” and I have to say it was then perfect – probably the best lamb chops I have ever eaten – anywhere.

At this time of year (October) you can’t sunbathe on your private decking. Although the pools are in the sun, the deckings at the suites-with-pools are shaded by the buildings. My wife was disappointed with this aspect but I was happy with the shade. Garden suites and executive suites have sunny spots all day long.

The beach is pebble. It’s hard to get into or out of the water because it hurts your feet. The shops sell swimming shoes and it’s worth buying them because the water is crystal clear and really nice and warm.

Room Tip: Room 135 is on the lowest level of the normal pool suites. The path to the suites is right outsid...
