This is a charming spot. Don't arrive at night - arriving here is painful, the taxis don't know where it is, and can't fit in to the tiny lanes even when they find out from a local. So the taxi is expensive. Try to arrange a transfer from the hotel - but give them a few days, don't try to arrange it the day before. Even with the best system, most people get to trundle their luggage down the pebbly lane until they reach Dorios Square. We had wheeled luggage - it was pretty comical. However, once you get here, cursing, you soon settle down. It's plain but comfortable, all the basics covered, and you're 20 metres away from half a dozen tavernas, a small supermarket, and a laundry. And you're away from the main tourist drag - tho' 5 minutes away if you hanker for a souvenir or two - so everything is quieter and cheaper. Lonely Planet recommends this, and you know, I think they got it right.
