“We don't recommend the hotel to anyone”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2011

We stayed at Sun & Sea hotel and it was really awful. There were cockroaches in our hotel room and there didnt come a maid a single time, so the room got dirty. The distance to Faliraki is really long and it's terrible to walk the way when it's really warm and in the night it's creepy if u come home from the bar. It took at least 15-25 minutes to walk to the main street. Plus they didn't have a hair dryer in the hotel room. The owner of the hotel was really rude and didn't like young people at all, he didnt't even say hi when we came to the hotel and he stayed up the whole night, until everybody got back. There were wasps by the pool so you had to watch out where you stepped. We wont be returning to this hotel never again, but Faliraki was lovely. The last time we were in Faliraki we stayed at White Palace, it was nice and close to the "city" and the owner was really friendly, we recommend.

Myself and my partner have just come back from Falaraki after staying 2 weeks at Sun & Sea Apartments.
We made friends with the owner Savvas and his Family straight away and we were made welcome as soon as we arrived.
Our room was huge which we wernt expecting and we had good facilities in the kitchen area.

The beach is 5mins walk from the apartments and 15mins walk in to the town centre. Everything was really close, there was a super market 2mins away from us.

The rooms were kept clean and you do have some groups of people shouting at like 6am after a night out but at the end of the day they are just having fun on holiday.
Would deffinatly recommend to go here.
I can't wait to go back next year :-D

We went in august 2008 for 2 weeks and absolutly loved this hotel! yes, i agree with some of your comments about the air con being expensive {we paid 80 euros for 12 nights, as we tried to do without for 2 nights, not a good idea!} and about not having lifts, but it is not the end of the world having to carry your suit case up a few steps!

The owner, Savvos, was lovely! At first we found him quite intimidating and through reading other reviews, we hought he was going to be a nasty man, but he was always very pleasant to us, and even when we were coming in at 5 or 6 am he was pleasant, as long as we were quiet!..and yes, he waits up until everyone in his hotel have returned from the town.

The hotel is about 25mins walk from the town centre, but you can phone for a taxi which will cost 5euros! but the walk isnt too bad, as long as you're not silly and decided to walk it at the hottest part of the day! One of our favourite parts of the holiday was the walk home after a night out - some laughs had there!!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and liked Faliraki, but would not return, as Faliraki isnt the club heaven people make it out to be!

Must do - take a trip to Rhodes town! brilliant shopping and amazing boat trips available!

stay away from - georges bar and romellis! georges bar is full of wasted underagers and the owner of romellis is a slime ball! he has no manners and will do anything to get you in! not a nice man!

  • Liked — the room size and how friendly the staff were
  • Disliked — air con price and how thin the room walls were

It seems these apartments are getting a really bad review and that shouldn't be the case at all! There was only two of us wen(both girls),we arrived the early hours of the morning to be greeted by savvas, who asks for your passport and you do have to carry your own case but its not the end of the world! It does look abit like it is in the middle of nowhere but you see in the morning that its not.
its a totally family run business and all of them couldn't have been nicer or more helpful,we were there for two weeks and on the last night we even went out with the barmaid!!!
The hotel is about ten mins from the beach and about the same from bar street so nothing to major and if you really dont want to walk its only 5 euros in a taxi from the hotel to town.
The only bad points about the hotel are that you have to pay for your air conditioning which can get expensive if your there for a long period of time, its about 8 euros a night and is defo worth it as it gets so hot at night, sleeping on the balcony became a regular occurance for us until we got air con and also the food at the bar isnt the best but its not bad either!
When you head into town be careful about some of the bars as one girl at our hotel got spiked and ended up in hospital, she was a mess so just watch your drinks!
if there is a big group of you going, you defo have to negotiate with the PR guys that stand on bar street because you will end up getting more drinks, there ended up being a group of 10 of us from our hotel that went into town all the time and got so much free drink just because they wanted to get you into their bar!
Its also a good idea to buy some alcohol and drink in your room first beacuse it can get expensive in town if you are out all night.we drank in the bar alot before we went out and you always ended up with free shots and drinks so it is worth while getting friendly with the owners.
The hotel pool is perfect, its a good size and cleaned every night and there is always plenty sun loungers so you dont have to get up really early and throw the towles out to guarantee your spot by the pool. I would say defo stay away from tap water and ice out of the bar as it does give you a dodgy tummy and thats not what you want.
Overall the hotel was spot on and absolutely perfect if you are on a guys/girls holiday and you just want it as somewhere to sleep eat and get ready,if you plan on spending all your time at the hotel i wouldnt recommend it as there isnt alot of entertainment put on!

  • Liked — the atmosphere
  • Disliked — the fact that you had to pay for air con
