We stayed at the Venezia Resort from the 13th til the 20th July as a couple aged 20
The hotel is lovely having being refurbished all over, always very clean and our room 401 had a brilliant sea view and even being all inclusive we had reasonable kitchen in it too! The showers are small but we managed! The bar area and restaurant is really nice especially when the sun goes down over the hills. The staff was nice too and helped us to plan our trips out! The only complaint I do have is on our first day we didn’t arrive until midnight so obviously couldn’t use the all inclusive that day but on our last day we checked out at 11ish and were not leaving til 8pm but they cut off our all inclusive bands so we only ended up having 6 days of all inclusive which I didn’t think was fair!
Now the food, this is what let the hotel down for me. I’m quite a fussy eater I admit but at previous hotels they usually have plenty of choice and get something but here the food choice was very limited and aimed at other nationalities I felt. The fish was a mystery and in green sauce then you got pasta, soup and bread every night and only one choice of pudding so I lived on bread and kebabs from Faliraki. My boyfriend did try the food and enjoyed it though. They should have signs saying what the food is though and a few more options than 8 dishes.
The location of the hotel is okay for people good on their legs! About a 15-20 minute walk to the centre which is reasonable but as the hotel sits on a hill we always took a taxi back up for 5 euro.
The resort of Faliraki is perfect for young couples like myself and families, we found plenty to do in the day and night. Yes there are some 18-30 groups but not that many so you feel safe and not uncomfortable. The beaches aren’t very crowded so are nice to go to and watersports are available (I recommend the banana boat safari).
The resort consists mainly of 2 streets –club street and bar street. I think its bar street that is parallel to the sea and there are a lot of shops, restaurants and the nightclubs on this street. There is a great live music bar called the King Arthur on this street which is well worth a visit! Club street is mainly bars with people trying to get you in (listen to them though for good deals!), fish spas bizarrely and shops again.
Rhodes itself is a beautiful island! We hired a moped and went to Kalithea, the water park which is brilliant and Lindos. Its well worth having a vehicle to get around as its a small island its very doable.
