“Does what it says on the tin (Almost)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

Went to Esperos Mare Mid July. Pick this and you wont be disappointed.
Rooms done the job, air con worked well, and you will need it. They were cleaned everyday, with a change of towels.
Staff very pleasant in the main, although some of the female waitresses were a bit sour faced, but it won`t spoil your stay, lets face it they have an unenviable job. Reception couldn't do enough for you.
The biggest pluses Katerina in the pool bar, she never stopped smiling.
The food was absolutely fantastic. With some all inclusive hotels even 5* it can get a bit repetitive but the Esperos, just kept getting better and better, with it`s different theme nights and there was so much to choose from.

On the negative side, it was the usual people leaving towels on the beds around the pool, even though there are notices in the lifts to say they would be removed, unfortunately it was never carried through. Although there were plenty on the beach spare. The best place we found was on the grass island in the middle of the lazy river.
The biggest let down, and this was not the hotels fault, it was the misleading information from the tour operator, that says to stop at the swim up bar as you pass it on the lazy river, what they failed to mention, was the bar was not part of the all inclusive and you had to pay for your drinks.

Had it not been for the above, this would have definitely got a 5 from us.

We have stayed in this hotel in July 2013 for 10 nights. It is indeed a great service and very nice, delicious, fantastic meal.

Our son is allergic to peanuts, and in the beginning we were very worried about the meal. But chef and sous-chef of the restaurant were so kind that every time they were explaining what meal is good and what is not for our son. Thanks. We had a great time there.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

Spent 1 week at Esperos Mare hotel in mid September. Hotel's location is quite beneficial, it is 5 min drive to Faliraki "city" (more village) center. In September it is the end of the season so clubs and bars are closing. Generally Faliraki is messy and dusty, more suitable if you are a teenager who go to drink and party. Rhodos city is much nicer and is 15-20 min drive from the hotel, there is much to see. The Old Town is big & it takes 1 day to explore it fully. Shope there are open till late midnight even during the week. There are lots of cats on the island :)
The hotel is predominantly for Germans, Italians, Swiss and Norwegians, mostly for older generation. Minus is there is no music on the territory during the day (as was explained by an animator - because older ppl like silence). Beach - is NOT sandy as it was described by our tour operator TUI, so it is better to bring boots for swimming. There is a store in the hotel which is open till 23:30 and the nearest pharmacy is around 800m left. There are some small shops nearby 7 cafes. meal in the hotel is not too bad but could be better. Reg-g "all inclusive" - not really. They dont give you bottled water, you need to buy it. Service is bad and they dont refill the fridge (NOT EVEn once during our stay!). Not all the staff on the reception is friendly, but most of all. Cleaning ladies are smiley but do their job not so good, mainly they just make your bed. You are lucky if you get the room after repair, cuz we did not. However the room was rather suit with a double size balcony. View was on the side but still beautiful sea & a bit of mountains. On the right side of the hotel there is a field of dust & a place for the future hotel.
Water in the sea is good. Service - (waitresses) - bad. They dont serve you immediately & u need to wait till they re-make the table after somebody. Manager of the hotel is Belgian, controls the order quite well but doesn't allow you to take food (even fruit) out of the restaurant. However without him waiters wouldn't work at all ;) Water in the pool is much colder than in the sea which is strange. It is hard to find a place besides the pool during the day & morning. So better occupy a bed in advance & leave there your towel for the whole day. Towels you can exchange each 2 days at the gym. If you want to use your 1 time dinner for free at Zephyros restaurant - do booking immediately. You can eat there only on Tuesdays. We didnt do it but heard it doesnt worth it. It is still a buffet there & you can choose additionally 3 dishes from the menu. Esperos Palace which is nearby (50 m away) is much better and the territory of both hotels is combined. The beach is mutual. The best hotels in the area - Ellysium (the newest), Le Marquise with separate villas (but the way to the beach is too long) & Alila! Better stay there :)

Room Tip: ask for a room after repair ;) & with a front view.

we where on this hotel for 10 days and we find out that the quality of the food, the staff and the rooms included the all building is so hight if you compare to the other hotels with " all inclusive formula " ..... then is everything around you... rent a car, water sports, night life and everything what you need... i want spend special words and thanks to the ANIMATION TEAM.... they make a lot of fun and they are always polite and full of energies.... we really like the shows in CASINO BAR and PARADISO as well ( is in palace side but everyone can move and join )
the pool territory are very nice and is visible that the management care about every particular. we will be back !

I stayed 10days at the esperos mare hotel and i had a blessed time there. The staff was always friendly and heplfull and the Animation Team was amazing, they even got my grandma in the Pool everyday for watergym or to do Pilates and yoga :)
and presented always a funny Show in the Evening or gave you insider informations where you go out at Night at best!Either Rhodos or faliraki are close to the Hotel and Good placed to go Shopping eating or partying!
The Hotel was very clean and nice the only Thing that could be better is the missing Sand on the Beach, there are only Stones directly in Front of the Mare Hotel!
All in all it was a fantastic vacation there and we will come back again...
