-The owners are incredibly helpful and very approachable!
Their kindness was shown when my girlfriend got badly sunburned on one day, and the owner gave her some special cream for it.

-It is only a few minutes walk away from the beach, supermarket, bus stop to Fira and 24 hour bakery.

-Rooms are basic, but cleaned everyday and very well air-conditioned.

-Pool is clean and well looked after.

Room tip: Ask the hotel for the bus timetables as some non-direct services to Fira can take twice as long as the direct (express) services.

I've never been one to go to European Holiday's ( usually Longhaul- US & Jamacia, but my stay at Villa Valvis in Greece was fantastic!. I went to Greece because 2 of my best friends were getting married in Santorini and gave me a list of hotels to stay in as I was booking for myself and a couple. I booked through Expedia and asked for another hotel which this B& B was incorrectly booked instead. I was upset to say the least but said "whatever". What a lovely "accidental" booking this was!!. From the moment we arrived the owners welcomed us with geniune smiles, escorted us to our rooms, gave us advice on where to eat, how to travel in Fira by bus, booked the taxis for us when needed. We had fresh sheets and towels everyday, rooms were kept very clean. Nothing was too much for the owners to assist with. THE POOL!- OMG !! BEAUTIFUL!!!- clean, refreshing, had a jet jacuzzi (which you operate yourself). I would of given the rating "Excellent" but for the A/C (which I have been informed is in process of being upgraded) also the Wi-Fi was very slow or didn't work and was quite irritating- (but I would like to stress this was not a major complaint at all-and could be because of being based on the ground floor) . My room was very cool and I had no complaints but my travel companions room was quite warm but they did not complain as once again it was a minor thing. However, the location is fantastic, 5 mins up the road from the beach!, 5 mins up the road from an 24 hour bakery!, up the road from a Supermarket (which sells everything you'd recognised from the UK with no mark up on the price!), the bus stop to Fira (main town centre) is across the road which takes about 15-20 mins on the express and 30-40 mins on the longer ride (which you will not mind as the views in route to Fira are breathtaking). As the hotel is just off the main road, we had the advantage of either going to the beach down one end to eat and enjoy the entertainment or visa versa on the main road. Another advantage of the location of Villa Valvis is that it is almost at the end of the bus route from Fira (about 3 stops) so if you miss your stop, you can just walk back about 10 mins and find the Villa, (which I did on 3 occaisons by myslef) We had such a wonderful time, that the whole wedding party will be celebrating next year for a reunion, some have said that they will stay in Fira but I'll stick wih Villa Valvis!.

Room tip: Try and get a room not on the ground floor as you will not see the beautiful view and may have better Wi-Fi connection. I had the ground floor and didn't see the wonderful view. Next time, I will book upstairs!.

It's not often my daughter and I book a place to stay and actually stay without changing rooms. BUT our room and Villa Valvas made our stay so perfect!!
Everything you have read so far about Villa Valvis is true. The owners Michaelis and Marina are so welcoming and cannot do enough for you. We had a room with an amazing bathroom and such a comfy bed! It was room 2 just by the pool and near the bar where they serve wonderful Toasties and filter coffee. Drinks are so cheap and served really nicely too. The maid cleaned daily, changing sheets and towels in every room and swept the pool area daily too. Although the Villa Valvis is fully booked, the pool area was never busy and so relaxing.
There is a 24 hr Bakery around the corner to the left whilst shops, cafes and bars are two mins away on the Beach. If you want some where quiet to go for a meal then turn right rather than left at the beach and go to a place called "Sea Side" It is a lovely walk and you will see the cream covers over the Restaurant with lights on the beach boardwalk and lovely cushions under covers on the beach. It has a flame out side so you don't miss it. The food is amazing as are the staff! Another good place to eat is what looks like a Mexican as everything is orange but again the food and staff are fab!!
We cannot thank Michaelis and Marina enough for all their hard work. You are wonderful!

Room tip: All the rooms looked lovely but some have had the bathrooms updated. They all face the sun and over look the pool. All rooms have A/C. I found the rooms too be quiet in an evening so we often sat out to play cards until late with no worries.

We returned last week from a 2 week stay at Villa Valvis and had a wonderful holiday . The apartments were excellent value for the price we paid and the housekeeping service was more than we expected. The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. The pool and sun lounger area is spotless,

The owners Michaelis and Marina are lovely, Michaelis helped us to arrange a sailing trip, car hire and quad bike hire and Marina assisted with advice on where to go and what to see . She also allowed us to keep our room for longer on check out day as our flight was not until the evening.

The apartments are in a good position close to local shops and just a 5 minute walk to the beach where there are many cafes and restaurants to choose from. We would recommend the sailing trip as a way to see the Santorini sunset and also the quad hire as a great way to see the rest of the island.

This was our first trip to Greece and we would definitely return to these apartments. As commented in a previous review, you could pay a lot more money in Santorini for a fancy hotel but what made this place special was the family who run it. Many thanks to them. Colin and Cathy

Room tip: Our room on the top floor overlooked the pool but it would be a good idea to ask for a room with a kitchenette.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who said our original room was still occupied by other customers who were meant to have left but still had all their belongings in the room so she apologised and said she'd wait a little longer before putting us in another room and gave us a cold pint of Mythos each to apologise, we didnt mind waiting but after half an hour or so she felt bad and put us into a triple room instead of a double room but we didnt mind.
The room was spacious with a double bed and a single bed, a small tv, air con and a kitchenette. The balcony overlooked the pool. The room was basic but for the price we paid it was just what we expected.
We only stayed here 4 nights but we had no problems, except the key in the door was a bit of a pain to lock but thats all and the owners were lovely.
Only a 2 minute walk to the bus stop, beware dont use the map on tripadvisor the location is wrong! and only a 5 minute walk to the beach and restaurants.

Room tip: Ask for a pool view room
