My husband and I returned last week from Kouros Village and can highly recommend it. On arrival we were greeted by the manager, Vassilis, at the entrance and taken to reception where we were put in the capable hands of a very polite young man, who after taking our details, picked up our cases and carried them to our room on the 1st floor. Our room was one of the smaller ones and I must admit there was very little storage, but we soon adjusted and loved our little room. We didn't have a bath, only a dedicated area in the corner with a curtain and hand held shower, but this again we soon got used to, and we always had hot water. The room, like the whole complex, was kept immaculate and was so beautiful with lots of flowers and a fantastic pool with pretty bar area. The roof top breakfast buffet had plenty on offer, cereals, eggs, bacon, tiny sausages, ham, cheese, tomato, croissants & toast and the most wonderful greek yoghurt & honey, ham & marmalade plus a large pot of tinned peach halves and fresh oranges. From the first morning at breakfast we were greeted by Vassilis by our first names as were all the other guests, and he and the young man (from reception) made sure our cups were always kept full. The atmosphere in the breakfast room was amazing, the views, the music & the general chit chat with Vassilis & his assistant. We and another couple were the only English there at the time, the majority were French, Italian & German, but everyone was so friendly and it never seemed crowded or noisy. Vassilis is always at hand if you need to know anything about the area or trips and can even arrange trips for you (much cheaper than Thomsons), although if you look around, some trips can be found even cheaper outside. The complex is in a perfect situation, turning right leads to the beach and an array of restaurants just a few minutes walk. Turning left leads to the main road where you will find a few more bars & restaurants, plus supermarket & souvenier shops. Try the famous Dorians Bar here where you will find a great atmosphere, good music, cheap drinks and cocktails. Nikos will be sure to welcome you here (find his bar on Youtube and his own website). All in all, this is a great place and if we ever return to Santorini, we will definitely choose Kouros Village.
