“Super yummy seafood pasta and awesome service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Like some of the reviews here, we were also walking by Perissa and looking for a place to hangout and eat and this is actually one of the first ones you will see when you get off the bus. We were greeted by Marilou and she was very enthusiastic and inviting, but thought of walking some more and maybe we'll find something better. The other restaurants may be better looking, but none of the staffs are as vibrant and inviting as Marilou so we went back. We thought that we might as well be at a restaurant where it seems you will get good customer service and Marilou is good at that. She earned her clients!

Ok, food review. We ordered honeydew and prosciutto and this was not good. Prosciutto was not fresh. It seemed old. It was actually nasty I couldn't eat it. I didn't complain though as I was shy. haha! Normally I would but I don't know why I didn't. The seafood linguine was the BEST though! It's so good I ordered extra pasta! It was so al dente! I can't stop thinking about it I wanna eat it again :)

Over all, sapore di mare is a good resto in perissa as when you're on vacation, nothing beats friendly people, good customer service and yummy food. Marilou is an asset to the restaurant.

“This is a must in Perissa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

We were strolling thru and was greeted by Mary Lou. We said hello and kept walking. As we walked we noticed that no one has the entusiasm that Mary Lou had so we went back. She invited us to sit on the beach without any type of promise to buy anything. She never approached us we went up to her and got something to drink. She asked if everything was ok and she would be there if we need anything. THIS IS UNHEARD OF. We later went up and eat lunch and it was fantastic. The Greek salad the sandwich and the pasta were all great. Of course the service was excellent. The prices to me were very reasonable. We never felt rushed or pushed in any way. This is a great experience in Perissa. Ask for Mary Lou and you will be waited on by a real professional.

“Good food but overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

Nothing wrong with the food here, all good typical Italian fare but I thought it was a little expensive for what you received compared to other places in Perissa.
One other major issue with this place is the staff whom I am sure are just trying to be friendly but come across as a little too keen and aggressive trying to entice you to enter. Afraid many of us British just do not like that sort of treatment.

“Excellent Italian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

We chanced upon this gem by accident and I'm very glad that we did. The Neapolitan owner went out of his way to accommodate us; nothing was too much trouble.

The al-dente pasta was perfectly cooked and the home-made pesto was gorgeous. The service was first class and I would heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through Perissa.

“100% accommodating and tasty.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Truth be told, our group walked right by this restaurant as we were looking for where to spend our day at the beach. We were greeted as we walked by, and we ignored the warm greeting and kept walking.

As we looked and found nothing that sounded good - the same person who greeted us the first time, greeted us again and asked what it was we were looking for. She guaranteed us she could and would do anything we wanted and would take care of us all day long with the freshest food on the beach.

We took her up on her offer and parked it at Sapore di Mare all day long. We started with omelets made to order, and enjoyed drinks, snacks and even stayed through lunch. The attention to freshly prepared food was evident. The eggplant was great. The service was great. The drinks were great. All of it... great.

We ate at a lot of places in Santorini - who knew our favorite restaruant would be an Italian place on the beach?

Thank you Sapore di Mare.

Don't miss this place if you are on Perissa beach.
