We have just come back from the Hotel Veggera, and had a lovely time. We took a 5 year old and a 2 year old, and the hotel was spottlessly clean, the pool area was lovely and the rooms very nice and clean also. The breakfast was ok, it probably catered for the scandanavian guests more, i would have liked to see bacon etc even for a couple of days, but it was still adequate.
There is no entertainment at night, just a bar by the pool which plays music, but Manos the manager there is brilliant with your kids, so give it a go.
The resort is quiet, but there are alot of lovely resturants along the front and on the main road which runs parralel.
The only downside i thought with having two children was the beach, i knew that it would be black sand, but it was volcanic grit. My children moaned constantly about not been able to make sandcastles etc.
All in all a lovely place and island, great for a relaxing break, but no good if you want to go out somewhere different every day, you can see the island in a couple of days.
It is by far the most upmarket and clean island in Greece that i have been to.

We stayed at the Veggera Hotel in Perissa with FirstChoice Holidays whilst on the Island of Santorini for our wedding along with family and friends.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and
comfortable. Would advise to request high floor rooms and the lower rooms are slightly sunk below ground level

Situated on the beach front just across small road to beach. The hotel does charge for sunbeds and parasols on the beach even if you are a guest.

There are two pools, beach bar and restaurant. Breakfast was good with selection from Croissants, Fruit, Greek Yoghurt, Cold Meats etc, a little repetetive after two weeks!

Perissa is a low key relaxing resort with a selection of chilled out bars and restaurants, a water taxi can be caught during the day to Kamari. Or buses can be caught to Fira overlooking the volcano.

Santorini is a beautiful island but Perissa where The Veggera Hotel is based is not the best spot. The hotel itself is the best in the area, perfectly clean, two inviting pools and genuinely friendly staff. We stayed B& B and although the breakfasts are aimed at the continental maket , ( meats,boiled eggs and bread) we found it more than adequate. Each room has a private veranda \patio and ours was a perfect sun trap.
In Perissa itself I can recommend the Yazz bar and resturant which serves great food and spot on cocktails that you can enjoy while watching the sun set over the beach. Be warned however that the beauty of Santorini comes at a price , If you want to drink spirits the prices are high, ( average of 6-7 euros a drink ). Also if you fancy scuba diving the staff at the Santorini dive centre ( just next door to Yazz ) will show you a fantastic time for a resonable price.
Elsewhere on the island Thira and Oia are well worth a vist although be warned that they are always packed with people just off the cruise ship and the prices are sky high. In Thira do not bother with the cable car , it's 4 euos each way down to the port and there is nothing there to see.
Overall we enjoyed ourselves although I wished we had stayed in Oia ( little whitewashed houses overlooking the volcano ) I would recommend the Island but do expect to spend more than on many other islands

Just came back from Veggera hotel in santorini (perissa) and i had the time of my life in this holiday.. there was 7 of us.. the hotel is perfect.. but make sure u dont get rooms that are underground! the staff are amazing and very helpful.. rooms cleaned on daily basis.. everything is perfect really. the hotel is exactly on the beach.. surrounded by good food places shops main road and couple of clubs n bars!...

advantage of it is that u can have the beach holiday and if u decide u want to go to the mountains it takes only 20 mins to Oia which is a must see!! also the prices r good n cheaper than most euro countries (but mayb thats bcoz we went in may?)

anyways overall... if i went again i would not think about it twice i will definitly go to this hotel ...
