“Huge, Delicious Salads at Relaxed Beachfront Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

A review of the salads at Tranquilo will hardly do them justice. They are simply that awesome. Try to imagine the biggest, freshest salad possible (with no iceberg lettuce or 'fillers' to take away from toppings) and you will be on the right track. For 6-8 euros, one salad will fill two people. Tranquilo is just that, located right on Perissa beach in Santorini. Open air, festive colors and music, hammocks, nookish lounge seating with cushions, a lively bar, a mix of locals and european tourists, and great beer prices (Mythos 500ml for 3.5 euros is a great start). All buses in Santorini run from Fira to another city on the island, and the trip to Perissa is about 15-20 minutes. If you get off at the main Perissa Beach stop, walk right along the beach for about 10 minutes to get to Tranquilo. If you get off at the Perivolos Beach stop, walk left along the beach for 3-4 minutes. This is the type of island restaurant with a view, service, great food, and great vibe that makes your trip entirely worthwhile.

As a note, if you don't want the structure of depending on buses that fill up quickly and may or may not be on time, rent an ATV or scooter to truly enjoy Santorini. You can get anywhere on the island in 20-25 minutes, and scooters and ATVs are allowed on ALL roads. Plus, parking an ATV is far, far simpler than trying to find parking for your car in Santorini.

“Best place in Perissa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Brilliant place! This is a really laid back, colourful place. The staff are friendly and attentive. This is not as much of a restaurant as some of the others on the beach, but the food that they do is great. They specialise in XL salads - try one, you won't finish it! Their cocktails are the best of the beach (8 euros) and they do brilliant smoothies too. My recommendation is try this for a drink before dinner, or afterwards for a few cocktails.

“Huge amazing salads”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

The food is fresh, and filling. The salads are the size of your head, and can be easily shared between 2 people. I also had the hummus which was delicious! Everyone in our group of 20 loved their food. I'd highly recommend this place.

“Tranquilo it is!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014 via mobile

Ok. This place came recommended to me so I had a high expectation level. So the positives thus far from my 3 visits.,,
1. Best bar restaurant in Perissa by far.
2. No tacky horrible seaside menu boards out front and waiters encouraging you in with crap chat!
3. Staff are exceptional, especially the English and Greek girl from Athens who's names I forget just now but wow they absolutely portray the relaxed vibe and are genuinely interested in people stories and people theirs.
4. Love the fact that they appreciate your visit!
5. Music, ambiance etc captures Santorini as it should be.
6. Great job Alex and Kylie!

Areas to improve on....
1. Wifi is terrible. Need to sit on the bar staffs shoulders to get a signal.
2. Little guy that looks after the sun beds is rude and NOT complementing what goes on inside. My girlfriend mistakenly bought a drink from the bar next door, after us buying lunch and several drinks from tranquilo and was told.. 'Ok you have to move now!'

“Best chill out bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

Loved the vibe. Cool and relaxed with the biggest salads I've ever had, recommend you share one! Great smoothies and awesome cocktails. Food ok - better restaurants but for service and ambiance and a hammock from which to sip your fav cocktail....Tranquilo is the place.
