“Perfect beach to relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Very relaxed. Loved the black sand, its more like tiny pebbles than sand. Water was always beautiful. Gets a little windy at times but its nice during the heat. Would recommend having breakfast at Noma and then using their deck chairs.

“Crowded, big and nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

As many Santorini beaches are a must see at least once in your life if you have the chance. Perissa, Perivolos and Ag. Georgios beaches are special for black fine sands and great sea, water and views. Bars and restaurants are everywhere, prices can be a bit higher than anywhere else, but nice and cool. Enough place, umbrellas, chairs on the beach, nice service everywhere.

“Cool beach with pebble stone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

The beach have enough facilities and the pebble stone is finer than the Kamari beach pebble stone. I recommend Perissa over Kamari, because the beach have finer and smaller stones.

“Ok, but not for kids”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Beach: Small black pebbles that become REALLY hot. The ocean bottom consists of 2m of slippery rocks, then there's a bunch of big rocks (0,5m high and wide) and then it drops and becomes really deep. Not really something I would recommend for family's with kids.

Really quiet and non crowded beach. Some sales people were walking around. It can get quit windy but when we were there it was so hot that it was quit welcomed.

There's a lot of beach beds with umbrellas to rent. According to our Apollo people the standard price was 5 Euro/day. A lot of restaurants also has sunbeds with umbrellas that you can use if you buy something. I recommend Tranquilo. They have awesome smoothies and the food looked great (never tasted it). They also aim to use organic and local products.

“Black Volcanic sandy beach which stretches into other beaches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

The beach is quite build up with deck chairs and umbrellas provided by the restaurants. So if you buy a drink, you can stay virtually the whole day. But atmosphere is relaxed and you are greeted as you walk along the promenade. The bars come to live in the evening with offerings of live music throughout the week by many bars from cover bands to more traditional greeks. It is a more relaxing and "matured" nightlife. There is a camping site nearby - full of American teenagers this week. The beach is frequented by a good mixture of people of all ages and countries from Scandinavia, Germany, France and Italy and even Greeks and from as far as China. For once the British are not dominating their presence on the resort.

Perissa beach is near Kamari Beach - a touch smaller and more upmarket. These are the two most decent beaches in Santorini. Give Red Beach a miss.
