“Perissa Beach - very good beach but be careful where you choose to sit!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

Avoid chairs and umbrellas in front of Wet Stories restaurant!! They charge 8 euro for a glass of juice and then 10 euro for the use of 2 lounge chairs/ umbrella! They did not disclose the cost of the chairs/umbrella when directing us upon arriving!! They lowered the price to 7 euro after I let them know how displeased I was with the undisclosed cost. Avoid this place and ask about the cost of chairs/umbrella before getting comfortable. Happy lounging!

“Loved this beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Perissa beach is gorgeous - it felt like it wasn't as 'touristy' as the other beaches we visited. It was more peaceful and quiet - perhaps because it is further away from Fira and Oia - which is where most people are staying/visiting.

The black sand was SO hot; make sure you take some slip on shoes or booties so you don't need to sprint from shady spot to shady spot to get to the water! The seabed is also really rocky and slippery - so it's difficult to stand without slipping over, but if you do slip - you won't hurt yourself, it's not that bad. This is my favourite beach in Santorini.

“Relaxed beach area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Perissa is less trendy than Perivolos and Kamari, and so is quieter... and so much more pleasant for it!
The beach is coarse black sand, so not great for kids, but the sea was wonderfully clean (it's been awarded Blue Flag beach status in 2013) and as there aren't that many people, you don't feel crowded.
We liked it, but it might be a bit quiet for some people.

“Beautiful beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

The beach was very clean made up of black volcanic ash which got very hot so I recommend swimming or boating waterproof shoes, most restaurant along the beach owed the beds and umbrellas so offer beach service with drinks most days the sea was reasonably calm the wind could be problem at times but also a relief from the heat the beach road was traffic free after 5 o'clock at night. Till 5 o'clock in the morning, all the restaurant very good and reasonably priced.
