“Modern. Great views. Friendly service. ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Fantastic views at this modern chic cafe/bar. Food was okay, a little too much dressing on Caesar salad... (Would be fresher if the dressing was on the side). Friendly waiters with a great level of attentiveness, not too much/too little. We went for lunch but I imagine it would be great for a drink in the evening. Great location, out of the way of busy Fira for a quiet, relaxed lunch.

“Breathtaking view / wrong run of buisness”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014 via mobile

One of the most beautiful cafés on the caldera. The scenery is breathtaking. It's located in Firostefani, just 10 min walking distance from the main town. The design is very fresh, painted all white with an add of small details of pink and purple, surrounded with candles and flowers. It is build in 3 levels so you can have view from everywhere. The prices are worthy to what they offer.
The Menu is very short, that is good since it's not a restaurant, but the dishes are old and boring (at least 10 years old). Since it is considered to be a cocktail or wine bar but with a kitchen, they lack of side plates like small tapas to accompany the drinks. The lunch menu is very good, club sandwiches, salads and crepes are amazing. The waffles are bad.
The main menu at the entrance is wrong written and confuses people. The black board with the menu of the day also at the entrance refers you to a different type of business (taverna).
We visit the cafe twice and both times it was empty, only us and two other companies. I can understand that because we heard the same comments with what we thought from the other companies too. The employees are the huge disadvantage of the place. Two old guys from a past age (look like traditional taverna waiters), sitting one of them at the welcome entrance and the other one in one of the tables and were smoking. The third one was a young man who couldn't speak english so good and his appearance and behavior was unprofessional.
To finish, I only want to suggest the owners that by making some small changes to the menu and by changing personnel and hiring young and good looking girls and boys who can speak the English language and embellish the place with their behavior and appearance will only bring positive results.
The place is gorgeous and very picturesque so it's pity to leave that sense to the guest.

Ps: after every comment I make in trip advisor, I want to mark the fact that you have to see where the comments are coming by. For example if you see excellent comments from the same town or village probable is because they are people friends with the business.

“Good food, lovely view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

We went to this place a few times when we were in Santorini. It is new, fresh and not very typical greek. I loved the fact that you could have Greek food but also more European if you got tired of tzatziki... The service is excellent.

“Beautiful view and great food”

My wife and I went to Onar for a light meal and a few drinks. The restaurant itself is beautiful with great views. The staff were very friendly and we would have no hesitation in recommending.
