“Amazing views and perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

We stayed here for two nights at the start of a two week trip around the islands in August 2013. We were searching for a hotel in Santorini with THE view and everything was completely out of our price range... until we stumbled across this little gem via Trip Advisor. This hotel was an absolute diamond, great little room with THE view right outside your door, at a price you can afford! The room itself was lovely, clean and quiet and the shared balcony out the front was a lovely place to relax with a book or a bottle of wine (from Mylo's very own shop right outside!). The hotel is just up and out of the main part of Santorini and is quite a considerable walk on challenging flip flop terrain, however it's completely manageable and you get constant beautiful views so we loved it. Breakfast was simple and all you need, with fresh fruit and amazing Greek yoghurt. We spent the days shopping in the main town and evenings drinking wine looking out at the views. Great place to experience Santorini, far enough away from the hustle and bustle to relax in privacy but close enough to get involved when you want to.

We stayed there four nights. This is a no frills place with a spectacular location and view. Very clean. There is a refrigerator and water boiler in the room ... so maybe a few frills, and certainly quiet and comfortable. The owner was super friendly and very helpful and willing to answer all questions. There is a mini-market attached, very convenient. It's a 10 minute walk from Thira. We would love to stay there again.

We stayed at the Hotel Mylos on the basis of availabity and caldera view. I cannot really fault the place, you can enjoy a simple breakfast and later a few sundowners on your balcony with 'that view'. The rest is arbitrary, simple room that offers a good nights rest in a quite location. If you want more, you need to dig deep for the same view. And very conveniently the owners run the shop below the hotel - shame there's no discount for guests!

The owners were very friendly and helpful during our stay and put together a breakfast on our last morning even though we were living before the normal breakfast hours.

I stayed at Mylos hotel for 6 nights this Aug. and found it simple and basic - nothing more. The owner (the brother) was great and we got lots of good information from him on local sites, restaurants etc. he was really helpful.
The room is simple – kind a combination between a youth hostel and half way house. There is hardly any room between all the furniture in the room to move around so be careful at night (we stayed in the 1st room on the bottom floor closest to the hallway).
One of the beds had squeaky springs that made turning at night interesting.
The towels – changed daily but they were so hard and stiff and we guessed they must be sun dried. If you are sensitive bring your own soft towel because the ones in the room can take your skin off.
Fridge worked well and there were a few utensils and plates. There was wireless – thank goodness.
My big issue – I wake up early and love to just sit and watch the world wake up but the woman who takes care of the simple breakfast also gets to work early (she actually stays in the room next to ours) and she has a cell phone - she talked nonstop from the time she woke up until we did. She used her cell phone right outside our door and spoke into it and to her colleague in a loud voice ruining any chance of enjoying the early morning in peace. Pity.
Bottom line – you get what you pay for. If you don’t plan to be in your room because you are out and about this is a real good place to save some money. Nothing fancy, no pool, no soft towels but a view to die for.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor - away from the street and with a better view.

Santorini is expensive; this hotel gives you the same view and location as hotels charging 50 times as much in some cases (no exaggeration).

Firostefani is referred to as the Beverly Hills of Santorini and is a great place to stay, plenty of restaurants but quieter than touristy Fira (a 10 min walk away).

Ok, it doesn't have a pool, and the balcony is not divided (as previous posts mention it's a long veranda with 4 x tables/chairs for 4 rooms) but for the price, and location this is hardly surprising. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the bathroom had the biggest shower of any hotel I've stayed at in Greece. Breakfast is delivered to you on the verandah and is included in the rate. There's a store attached to the reception which is perfect to buy some beer and watch the amazing sunset (which was a better view/experience than Oia).

My husband and I spent the first 3 nights of our honeymoon at Mylos Hotel. It was clean, the view is fantastic, and the location is great. However, the owners did not do anything special for our honeymoon, when in our hotel in Naxos, they made up the room with flowers and wine, so it was kind of disappointing. The first day I actually had to ask for our room to be cleaned. Also, the room that they claim has a private terrace, has actually a terrace that is shared with another 4 rooms, and people from the other rooms were sometimes sitting on the table that the owners made us believe would be for our exclusive use. So, don't bother paying extra for a "private terrace", there is no such thing.

Room Tip: There is no such thing as a private terrace, so don't bother paying extra.

We stayed here for 10 days recently, on our honeymoon. The rooms were very nicely appointed for European resort and Greek standards, a TV, fridge, lock up closet, cutlery and plates, glasses and cups (probably the only things missing would be a bottle opener and a microwave, but who wants to warm stuff up on vacation?). The view is the main seller here; we went all across the island and experienced pretty much all different views of the Caldera, Skaros and other significant items in Santorini, and the view here is the absolute best. Firostefani is a neat place, because it gives you a less hectic environment than Fira, but more stores and neccessities than say, Imerovigli, which is up the road. We also liked rotating the walking paths to Fira: on days we had to catch the bus, we walked the main road. On dinner trips and scenic days, we walked the path along the cliffs and on days when we wanted a solitary walk, we would walk the middle path (up the cobblestone on the exit/parking lot of Firostefani) and see some locals and some neat, everyday living scenes. The breakfast was very nicely appointed, we had our room cleaned neatly and fresh towels daily and the owners were extremely helpful in every single item we had for them. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: There are 4 rooms: #1 has a porch that overlooks the street, but apparently, a private balcony. The...
