“Heavenly setting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2011

Perched high up on the edge of the caldera, the view from this small hotel was amazing, particularly in the morning and the evening. Having breakfast on the terrace at 8am as the sun was coming up behind the rim of the caldera was unforgettable. Our room, no 4, was well fitted and large, and had a good ensuite bathroom. However it was the hospitallity, the generosity and the great service provided by Mr Thanasis and everyone at Manos Small World that made our stay so enjoyable. From the bottle of wine and the plate of cheese and olives that greeted on our arrival, to the walk that Mr Thanasis took with us up to the road on our departure, we were made to feel special.
The 40 odd steps to the hotel would represent a problem for some people but we had no difficulty with them. We enjoyed the restaurants close by, particularly Mama Thira and it was clear from its popularity that we were not alone.
This is a great hotel that we could recommend to anyone.

It is a long time since I have stayed in the perfect spot. Nothing a guest would seek was omitted by the proprietor Mr. Thanasis. The rooms are big, modern, airy and delightfully presented with simple dining facilities, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, plates and cutlery. There is wifi in every room as well as TV, a sitting area, good wardrobe and splendid bathroom with walk in shower. Outside every room is a wide terrace area where breakfast is served on tabels individual to each room. We occupied three rooms and they put the tables together to accomodate us. Breakfast was a feast with delicious different Greek specialities served every morning. The rooms were checked and replenished twice a day. A large bowl of fruit and a bottle of Santorini wine greeted us on arrival. We were a stone's thrown from really good restaurants serving Santorini dishes and wonderful fresh fish. I would happily recommend this place to anyone fit for the steps, stairs and climbs of Santorini. The owner is definitely on the right track for winning a hospitality award. Is there a down side? The steps down and up. The instant coffee. As against that, we were provided with coffee and filters for our rooms when Mr. Thanasis learned of our preference.

Room Tip: All the rooms face west and have sun and sea views. This part of the island is quiet enough to hear...

After much contemplation, and reading about all the reviews on tripadvisor, my friend and I finally decided on Manos. And it was not a decision to be regretted.

Room 4 with the loft was cozy, right at the corner. Breakfast served outside your door on the private balcony, overlooking spectacular views of the caldera. What more could you ask for?

The room was always clean, the lady was around all the time, making sure the towels were changed, the bed was made, the rubbish taken out etc. When she saw that I had a sprained ankle, she wasted no time in getting a bowl of ice for me.

The owner was very helpful with any requests and queries that you might have. And he even did the booking for our volcano tour too. Though there were a couple of steps to climb up and down to the hotel, we never had to lug our bags down or up ... He would make sure that that was taken care of.

Great restaurants within walking distance, there was the traditional Greek restaurant right at the top of the stairs (amazing pork chops!), and then Mama Thira to the right towards Fira (fried tomato balls!), we also tried Vanilia at the left corner of the stairs.

Overall, a fantastic experience and Manos played a big part!

We have quite an experience of staying at very nice boutique hotels all over Europe, so we thought nothing can really impress us. But Manos Small World was a revelation. It clearly tops our personal chart of all hotel experiences. We've arrived to Santorini early in the morning (around 7am) and went straight to Manos, without high hopes of being accomodated, as the check-in time is only 14.00. Our taxi stopped at the edge of Caldera, some 50 steps above the hotel and the first thing that has stricken us was the view - early morning sun gleaming over the deep-blue sea and volcanic rocks with whitewashed houses with blue roofs and window-frames perched on these rocks, almost hovering in the air. We descended down these 50 steps and were heartily met by the owner, who already had a room for us and helped us with the luggage. Hotel's junior suites are marvellous - spacious, with a contemporary design (by the way, each suite features a different one), great temperature control, unobstructed views of the caldera and private sections of the terrace with tables, chairs and parasols. Oh and a bottle of local wine and a big bottle of water comes as a nice surprise too. Next day we've been offered even a nicer suite and the owner has seen to move our things. Every morning the owner and his wife offer excellent breakfasts on your terrace - every morning different meals, but all carrying Greek traditional touch and made of the freshest ingredients available. And there are no time restrictions - we had one of our breakfasts between at 12pm. Three days passed like in a paradise, made up of our friends' wedding, private yacht sunset trip, hanging out on Kamari and Perivolos beaches, lazy mornings at Manos. Each moment of our stay at Manos, we felt genuine care and it was really sad to leave today's morning. But we decided we will definitely be back. Even if there were no Caldera, Fira, Ia or any other sights on Santorini, Manos Small World could be already a good reason to come to this island. We wish all the best to it and its wonderful owners!

Among many places at Santorini,we selected Manos small world and we made a great choice. Not only the place is excellently located and the rooms are big and beautifully decorated, but also the owner and everybody working there do their best to cover all your needs.
I believe that what makes the difference in touristic places is the way people treat you.If one sees his clients as a quick way to make money, this person will never have a steady clientele. If one puts his heart in what he does, his efforts will be appreciated and rewarded.
At Manos small world they really put their hearts in what they do and that's why I strongly recommend it.

I felt so comfortable with the room and services. Every where is so clean and convenient. Bed sheets just like new. Breakfast was fantastic. The owner is so friend, warm and nice. The view from out of the room just like in a dream. The environment is so queirt, so that I had very good sleep every day.

I have provided the information of the hotel to my friend who is planing their trip. If have chance for sure I'll come back with my close friend.

Me and my wife spent seven beautiful days in this place. It’s located in the best point of view in Santorini, over the Caldera. The room was clear, clean and fresh; fully equipped (air conditioning, safe, wifi gratis, tvsat, fridge, stowels, coffe etc), the furniture new & elegant, the bathroom comfortable, the bed and bath linen changed every day. As we arrived Mr Thanassis helped us with the luggage (there are some steps downhill) and a maid offered juice & cold white wine. Sitting out on the terrace the chaos of people & traffic of the village (or, we may say, of the whole Island) disappears, the silence is broken only by the bells of the churches, sometimes. In the morning, every day the breakfast, brought on our personal table out on the balcony, was a new surprise, with salted and sweet dishes of the traditional greek cousine. And if we needed something special, we just had to ask for it. In the evening, guaranteed show of the famous Santorini Caldera’s sunset. Definetly, the best place we could imagine for us.
