Honestly first time i regret so much about trusting a travel agency for the booking of our hotel in Santorini.It was the worst experience we ever had in this"hotel".First of all nobody was effecient and nobody knew his job in there,everybody was rude and everuthing was filthy.The staff at the bar catch everything with bare hands after they clean the pool!!The manager in this hotel which is the wife of the owner as we found out is really rude and completely nothing to do with the hotels...
The rooms where so bad decorated and without any taste and they were quite old and most of them didnt have the view that they show in pictures on the internet.
For sure it was a bad choise and we would never choose it again!

The hotel was a far walk from Fira which is where you want to be. Fira is where the shops are and the restaurants. The walk is not convenient at all. You have a choice: walk along side traffic to get to town or walk through the confusing pathways. At night, there were no signs and we got lost using the pedestrian pathways. I recommend the Hotel Atlantis. It looks amazing from our hotel view and it is closer to Fira. It's tough to enough the nightlife when your hotel is so far and there are no cabs to take you back at night.

Our room had two levels. There were wooden stairs that led up to a second level built over the common area. It was like a bedroom, but much smaller and you have to watch your head. It was quite scary climbing up and down. The room had a bathroom that was pretty gross. There was a drain in the middle of the room and the shower curtains were on these rods that fans out along the tub. The bathroom was very grimy. You definitely have to shower with your sandals on in the tub. The second bed was right by the bathroom so that was a bit disgusting.

The receptionist, though was fluent in English did not know anything about taxis, places to go or anything. She was very sweet, but not helpful at all.

If you are looking to stay in a villa with a fabulous view and great staff, stay at Nomikos Villas. This place is positioned perfectly because there are restaurants within a short walk (unlike many of the other villas) and you can go into Fira easily. The staff are very attentive and want you to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The pool is small but fine. The rooms near the pool are the least desirable because they are so close to it. Ask for a room not near the pool. The rooms are charming and clean. Everything works fine, plumbing, electrical and they bring a very nice breakfast each morning.

One tip, don't take the tour to the volcano and hot springs. It's expensive, the volcano is just a pile of rocks and you don't get much time at the hot springs. The whole tour was seriously disappointing. Also, the Majestic is a nice hotel, but out of the way. It does not have much of a view and you will have to rent a car your entire stay or take cabs which is a pain. STAY AT NOMIKOS. You won't regret it.

Santorini is a magical place and if you find yourself in Greece you should definitely stay there for a few days.

My wife and I stayed at the Nomikos Villas for our honeymoon. We have never been to Santorini before, and to our enjoyment, it was the best decision we have taken (Besides getting married). Nomikos Villas is situated perfectly overlooking the Caldera (Volcano). The view from the hotel is incredible and if you ask for one the rooms upstairs, breakfast will be unforgettable. Although the view is superb, the next best asset this hotel has is the service. The staff are the friendliest I have ever encountered in any of my trips and Kiril, Despina and Smeragda (Kirilililiill, Delphina and Arugula, as we called them) are at your service 24/7. If you are at the bar, as for a Kiril Special (as I renamed it)....you will not be disappointed. The hotel is also located in Firostefani and not in Fira, and a 10 minute walk will take you from this quite romantic place into the heart of town for a good night of partying and dining. Worth to mention is Vanilla, a restaurant about 2 minutes from the hotel....best meal we had in town...just ask kirililillii for directions...
