“A hard life on Milos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

The story of the miners of the island going back thousands of years but with film and commentary from miners during the 20th century when life was very tough. Many different types of rocks and stones have been dug up here and used for lots of present day requirements. The mining still goes on but of course much more mechanised and far fewer men and women needed. Most interest ing.

“A pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

A well designed and presented museum, sponsored by the S&B mining company that so dominates the island. The core of the exhibits are the geology of Milos, including a little about the history and impact of the minerals, and the people who mined them. Watch out for the occasional special exhibitions. We spent a very enjoyable hour or so here. There is an entrance fee, which is a shame, but on balance its worth it.

“Very good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

I spent a pleasant and very interesting hour in the museum! It is a clean and organized museum that tells the story of how Milos island was created (it is a volcanic island) and also exhibits all the different minerals found in the island. Another interesting part of the museum is where exhibits of how the miners used to work even decades ago! Its definitely worth the visit!!

“Visit Milos and this is a must”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Mining has been in Milos since time began. It still creates jobs and wealth in the island. This museum is well presented and a must see. Sit and watch the documentary's films and learn about the history
