“Not great, issues with the room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Spent a week here, shower was broken but shortly resolved. Beds were uncomfortable and the noise levels were beyond acceptable, despite many others complaining about it nothing was done.

Last day there was horrific. There was faeces in the bar's women's bathroom floor that was never cleaned up.

Room Tip: Just keep in touch with the receptionist as soon as an issue arises.

Great holiday, beautiful little villages.. the staff at Mika were wonderful from the cleaners to the bar staff, very polite and welcoming. My only complaint was about the security guard , who kicked us in off our balcony for taking..as an adult on a holiday I didn't appreciate being treated like a child.

We were located right beside the bar in room 118, overlooking the pool.. the shower flooded the bathroom if left on too long but im sure if we had asked they would have resolved the matter. The very first night was noisy and late, but after a plane load of Irish arrived im not surprised, we had wanted to move rooms, but we stuck it out and ended up staying put. Every other night was reasonably quiet considering how close to the bar we were. The bar itself stays open from 6pm to anywhere between 2am n 5am.

The other pool, only 2 mins away had another bar alongside it, where they serve some food. That opened around 10/11 am untill 6pm. The barmaid is the friendliest chattiest girl, very polite and welcoming.

The village itself was less than 2 mins away, plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from.

My recommendations are; go to Nostos , Irish bar just around the corner from Mika, where Manus and his team will look after your every whim, from the music you wanna listen to, to the drink you want..which he may even let you pour yourself! We spent nearly every night in here! n They do Karaoke if you fancy it!

The Chinese Bali to Beijing is UNREAL! you'll never eat another chinese happily again... i have never tasted anything so good! And the family that own it are so wonderful, really worth at least one visit!

There was a lovely lady from northern Ireland running a restaurant , opposite the windmill (which was also a wonderful restaurant) where they do the best breakfast fry ups, and sunday roasts.

You can visit the town of Hersonissos, its a 20/25 min walk, but you'll wanna get a taxi back (7euro) as its all up hill... We didnt spend all that much time down the town, as we found the people to be quite rude and abrupt compared to the local villagers.

Old Hersonissos, is a 5/10 min walk from Mika, and on Monday nights book a table and get up there for a lovely traditional night, and excellent food!

Then theres Star Beach, everyone young and old should check this place out! Theres water sports, water slides..pool bars, tattooists(permanant and temporary) and a Foam Party every day.. (think it closes up at 7pm though) kids and old folks alike (and all in between) going around covered in foam, lots of fun and definitely worth the experience. We walked down (20mins ish) and got a taxi up, think that may have been 15 euro back.

Only thing left to say, is bring plenty of mosquito repellant and plug ins and all the rest, got ate alive! But worth it! Oh and spend the 40euro to get the air-con, we didnt and had many sleepless nights!

Best holiday so far!

Room Tip: Rooms near bigger pool (away from night time bar) are quieter

had a nice stay with room over pool, staff where very nice and had a good time, the only comment i have to make the toilets are in a bad way, very poor ,night time for food a nice place to eat is gevsi nice food and very nice people who run it well worth a visit. and i found in a side street a bar vinnies bar a nice place to drink and nice staff as well.to get to the main town a long walk down a very steep hill and had to get a taxi back cost of 7 euros.

Room Tip: room 140 is the best spot

I had a great holiday but would probably stay in another hotel. It is quiet far up the hill so you will need to rent a quad. It is far to walk in the heat. The holiday reps are great crack and very helpful. The main bar is small and not a great choice of drinks so your better going into town. The bar man is lovely. There is a pool table there.
The first set of apartments is more for younger people but the pool is very very small. There is a small shop with handy stuff and the drink there is cheaper. When you go down the stairs to the second set of apaertments these are for more quiter people. Again the pool here is small but lights up at night and looks lovely! There is a small cafe by the pool the girl that works there is nice but the choice and taste of food is not great.
Make sure you get up early to get your space by the pool! There is plenty of room by the apartments to park your quad and there are restaurants and shops near by.
The stairs up to the room are very slippy and you have to carry your own luggage.
Its 40 extra for air conditioning and they take 100 euro deposit of you when you arrive which we did not know about!
The room is basic with a small kitchen with 2 single beds in it. A small bathroom and the shower isnt great the water goes everywhere! Our double bed was 2 single beds pushed together ha! The curatins are not great and with the 2 balconies you can see straight into the people across from you! There is not much privavcy! The maid doesnt really change the sheets/toilet paper or towels so you have 2 ask!
I did have a great hol tho!

stayed hear last September for one week.. the room was basic and clean. when we arrived we had to wait for our room to be cleaned we didnt mind that though theres only a 2 ring hob in the kitchen when we tried to work ours and it started to spark and wouldnt turn off!! we complained and got a new one straight away. the bar and pool are lovely it was quite when we stayed but during high season i say it would be madness there!! the apartments are in a nice area but theres nothing to do because your so far away from the beach, you can rent quads to get around on.. beats the hills! there nice apartments but i personally wouldnt stay there again..

stayed here for 2 weeks and couldnt of asked to stay in a better place. if you asked for towels and sheets they would be given to you pool and apartments were very clean . the bar staff are lovely there is a shop thats open till 12 o clock most nights and has everyting you would need . hersonnisis is brilliant great banter at night malia is also great . the reps (sam and chris) are the best reps i have ever came across on holidays great personalitys very helpful and kind, they would be around every day checking if everyone is having a good time and their trips are amazing also they are very good at their job and people dont give them enough credit. thanks to the mika staff and sam and chris i had the best holiday of my life and would recommend it to anyone only problem was i didnt want to leave the place.

Room Tip: get aircon :)
