Spent a great week here looked after by the fantastic James & Katy. Well-appointed, homely chalet, good food, nice rooms (only saw the upstairs ones) and a beast of a fire in the the living area! Perhaps a bit optimistically described as "almost ski in/out": you can ski to the road (not for novices) and then you've got to walk across the car park and up stairs to the lift. Coming back is the same except you've got to walk up the bit you skied down in the morning. There's no evening entertainment in Linga, buses finish early and taxis are almost non-existent, so don't expect to go out in Chatel (except apres-ski) unless you're prepared for a lot of walking (apart from the host's night off when you can get a lift). Other than those points, we'd definitely recommend Coeur du Bois. James & Katy should be there next season as well so you'll be well looked after.
PS For an alternative end to the day, get the lift down to Chapelle d'Abondance and go to Le Fer Rouge micro-brewery/bar. Doesn't open until 16:00 and you'll have to get the 18:00 bus back to Linga. A bit of walking involved. Good cheese shop there as well.
