“Cozy, charming, friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

I stayed for three nights and had a great time. It is a very small place, 3 rooms. I stayed in La Demande, which has a separate bathroom exclusively for that room about 2 meters from the room itself. The room has a half-timbered ceiling, as does much of the rest of the hotel building, which is about 200 years old.

La Palud is a charming village perfectly located to spend several days in La Gorge due Verdon area. Le Perroquet Vert is near the heart of the village, near the bakery and across from the convenience store. Nothing is more than 5 minutes walk from anything else.

If you think a couple loose floor tiles and a makeshift step into the bathroom as well as 200+ year old construction (but double glazing) is charming, then you will love this place. I did.

We stopped over for just a night after walking down the Gorges de Verdon, but the welcome was so warm it felt like staying with old friends. The room was very old and quaint with some attractive modern touches, including a kettle and fridge. Breakfast arrangements were thoughtfully planned, as it was the owners' day off. I was really in love with the place by the time we left the next morning.

We really enjoyed our stay at the little b&b of Christine and Olivier. Located in an old XVII century building, the b&b only has 3 rooms, 2 with en suite bathroom and the other one with private bathroom on the floor.
The rooms have a charateristic "rural style": our room was the smallest one, La Demande, named after a classic climbing path. The B&B is all about the climbing: there's even a little climbing shop.
You can have a huge breakfast for 8€/pers and dine or lunch at the small restaurant where Oliver cooks a few simple but very good dishes. Enjoy the "plat du jour" that changes every day!
Since the two nice owners are alone in running the shop, B&B and the restaurant , always ask with a little advance what you need in order to enable them to please you. They will be more than happy to do it!
