This is a fantastic little auberge offering high quality food and service in a tranquil, typically French setting (well it has to be if it's in France).
We stayed in the Orchard Rooms, ourselves in Room 9 whilst our friends stayed in Room 8. To call the rooms basic seems a little critical. They are comfortable, spotlessly clean (sheets and towels changed regularly during our one week stay), and they have most of what you need – top of the list, I am told - a full length mirror, hairdryer, hand held shower over the bath, plenty of room for laying out toileteries, air conditioning (in our rooms) and plenty of charm. No safe, and no mosquitoes when we stayed.
The pool area is very nice with open views across the countryside. The pool itself is a constant 1.5m or so deep so maybe a little difficult for some but joy of joys a poolside shower which has hot water!
We had originally booked on a demi-pension basis but decided on arrival to switch to the summer 2013 à la carte in order that we could chose what we wanted to eat each evening. All of the dishes we ate during the stay was of superb quality, both in terms of taste and presentation. My wife and I certainly thought it to be the best food that we had eaten in France during our years of holidaying. Service at all meals was friendly and efficient. One night it was a little chilly so we ate in the cosy dining room (the pictures on the web do not do it justice) but for the rest of the time we ate outside on the terrace. For the beer lovers it is worth trying the Croix du Rat (blonde), very tasty. Otherwise, there was a good range of wine on offer at sensible prices. Most nights however, we drank the house wine which was perfectly quaffable and excellent value for money.
A great holiday, we would recommend to anyone. Well worth a stay.

Hello. We are so pleased you enjoyed your recent 7 day break with us at La Salvetat. Thank you for all your lovely comments. For Ann it is always particularly rewarding to get positive feedback on the food as inevitably in the season she ‘lives’ in the kitchen and doesn’t have as much time to chat to the clients as she would like!

We have restocked the Chateau le Raz and the Croix de Rat!
Finally, it was a great pleasure to welcome you and if there were a ‘GuestAdviser’ site you would have top marks!
Kind regards from Ann & Steven Jordan and the La Salvetat team
