“An Amazing Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2009

The Red Palm was our first stop on our trip to Costa Rica. It was where we got married and the experience was absolutely perfect. We stayed in the Honeymoon Villa which was designed and built to perfection. Every detail was well thought out, not to mention it's about 50' from the beautiful beach.
Mike, the owner, and his staff were fantastic. Anything we needed, they took care of. Mike and his team made arrangements for an attorney to marry us, a professional photographer to capture the special day, someone to do my hair and created a special place on the beach for the ceremony to take place. At night a personal chef came to our villa and cooked us an amazing dinner.
They also made arrangements for us to rent ATV's one day and for a boat trip to Tortuga Island for some snorkeling. Both were great, although the water was not ideal for snorkeling.
This was a trip we will never forget. I would go back to The Red Palm in a heart beat!!!

We just returned from an ideal honeymoon at the Red Palm Villas! (See attached photos). The proprietors, Mike and Jessica and all the staff couldn't have been more helpful in assisting us in every way...and the resident dogs kept us company on our walks along the amazing stretch of beach outside our villa where surfers of all levels tested their skills. While there are no restaurants per se on the premises, both the next door hotels had wonderful fare at reasonable cost. Renting quads (or "dirt bikes") gave us the freedom to wander the beautiful neighboring mountains, beaches and little towns nearby. We especially enjoyed the energetic horseback ride from Star Mountain back along the beach to our villa and the two canopy tours (zip-lines) that are easily accessible. If just relaxation is what you're looking for, a massage by the setting sun, or a sunrise yoga session are a must! All-in-all a 5 star experience...we can't wait to go back!!!

The Red Palm Villas was exactly what we were looking for! The staff and owner Mike were all very nice and the grounds were beautiful!!! Not only is the property private and secluded, but it is a short beach walk to Suck Rock and Town. We had the beach all to ourselves and it could not have been more perfect!!!! We will definitely be staying here again and we can't wait to bring our whole family down next time.

Not sure what I can say that hasn't been already mentioned in the reviews below, but I will try my best. I must have explored no fewer than a dozen establishments along the coast before deciding upon Red Palm Villas. Mike and the staff were extremely helpful, the facilities immaculate, and the beach heavenly. The drive from SJO was amazing and we are on the beach by the afternoon. We did not do many of the activities usually associated with a trip to CR, but concentrated mainly on relaxing and rejuvenating. RPV's could not have been better. Could not reccommend this place enough. Already planning our next escape from the big apple.

After staying at Red Palm Villas and exploring Santa Teresa, surrounding towns, and many of the accommodations in these areas, we couldn't have been more fortuitous in our pick to stay with Jessie and Mike at Red Palm. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it far exceeded our expectations. The Hummingbird Villa was beautifully interesting, spacious, uniquely designed, and exuded a peaceful state of being. None of the other properties compared, and I think it's mostly due to the passionate owners who live on property simply created an ultimate setting that they love.

The location suited us perfectly. We walked next door to an amazing and secluded restaurant for dinner or took our ATV to one of the many places right up the road. There are several grocery stores around, so we bought things to keep in the villa for breakfast and snacks. The beach in front of the villas was perfect for laying out or surfing; there are the occasional beach walkers or friendly neighbors, but otherwise it was wonderfully unpopulated. There are plenty of hammocks around too, if you prefer to lie in the shade.

The stay would not have been the same if it would not have been for our wonderful hosts, Jessie and Mike. We went to dinner with them our first night there and they gave us a lot of great advice for planning our stay. They were always available when we needed something, but gave us total privacy at the same time. They were so friendly - Mike loaned us his surfboard!

Overall, our trip was amazing and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. We hope to see Jessie and Mike again at Red Palm Villas!!:)

The Red Palm Villas are beautiful. We stayed in the Hummingbird villa and the attention to detail in the construction is really an accomplishment. These are by far the most beautiful accommodations in Santa Teresa. The location is also gorgeous, and is right in front of the best surf break in the area (suck rock). It's ideal. Of course, you are paying for the luxury. It's expensive, and there really aren't any services on the premises. No restaurant, no spa, no pool, no water provided.

The lack of these amenities means that you've got the place to yourself, which gives it an air of exclusivity. It is also worth mentioning that you are a short walk from a great restaurant next door, and there's a spa just down the road. Finally, Mike can arrange to have a masseuse, cook, or just about any other service you want brought to your villa (at a cost).

Bottom line: if money is no object and you want that perfect romantic getaway, this is the spot. It is also a good bet for surfers that want a bit more luxury than your stereotypical surf hotel.
